How to destroy a booming market.
A short post ft. the Haryana excise department.
The video is of Sector 29 on a Sunday evening. Shutters down. Shops sitting with no tenants. Half of them had not even bothered to open.
This is the same market that once ran a parking mafia. Tickets of 50, 100, sometimes more, just to park. Cars crawling all night. You could not get in.
I stood there this Sunday and there was nothing. 10 percent of the old crowd, maybe less.
A few years ago this place did not feel like India. At night the whole market was shining. Music, lights, people everywhere, that feeling of standing somewhere abroad for a few hours. Today it is quiet and in shambles.
Everyone will tell you the towing killed it. GMDA lifted thousands of cars, Sector 29 topped the list, people got scared and stopped coming. That scared some of them off. The market was already bleeding from somewhere else.
That somewhere else opened right next door, with a friendly name. BYOB. Bring your own booze. Sounds like freedom.
Except you cannot bring your own booze. A friend lands from abroad, hands you a bottle of scotch from duty free, and they stop you at the door. You get in only if you buy the liquor from their shop. The one attached to the place. So the name is a lie. It is a liquor shop wearing a restaurant costume.
Now look at what the licensed bars were carrying. Haryana raises the bar license fee almost every year. A proper brewery or bar in Sector 29 pays that every single year before it pours one glass. The BYOB next door pays none of it. No license. No excise weight. And it still charges food prices as high as the bar it is busy killing.
Here is the part that should end the argument. Around 2 years ago some of these BYOB spots quietly built a mezzanine floor over the ground seating to double the covers. No fire safety. No clearance worth the name. The places breaking every rule got bigger. The places following every rule shut down. The mezzanines were pulled later, but by then the crowd had already moved.
And the young crowd never cared about any of this. The BYOBs stay open till 4 in the morning. Live music, belly dance, theme nights, pool parties. Sector 29 with its licenses and its rules and its closing time could not fight a format that had no rules to begin with.
Then look at the real estate. Around 3 years ago an SCO here was touching 50 CR. Today those same units are hard to sell. The rent is so high that nobody can run a business that covers it, so the shutter just stays down. The demand is still there. It just walked next door, to the cheaper version with no license and no rules.
That is how you destroy a booming market. You charge the ones who follow the law every single year, you leave the ones who break it completely free, and then you act surprised when the lawful ones are the first to die.
Like I always say, leave women alone with their choices when they are young.
Let them be rebellious and broken in their early 20s and 30s because they don't think about the future. They only think about NOW.
You cannot advise a 23-year-old woman. She thinks she knows everything. She has Instagram followers, she has attention, she has 10 men in her DM, so she thinks she is winning.
Tell her "that lifestyle will cost you later" - she will laugh. She judges her entire life based on her current status. Right now she's hot, young, getting free dinners, traveling, so she thinks it will be like that forever.
Women only learn when the wall hits. When they come of age. At 35, 38, 40. When attention dries up, when choices narrow, when no serious man wants her anymore.
That's when regret comes. That's when she starts saying "I wish someone told me."
Someone DID tell you. You just weren't listening because you were too busy being rebellious.
So let them. Don't waste your energy advising women in their 20s. Let life be the teacher.
I compared Fanta sold in France with the one sold in India.
French Fanta contains around 4 teaspoons of sugar.
Indian Fanta contains around 10 teaspoons of sugar.
French Fanta does not contain artificial colours.
Indian Fanta contains artificial colours.
French Fanta contains real oranges.
Indian Fanta does not contain oranges and uses “orange flavours”.
French Fanta contains around 69 calories.
Indian Fanta contains around 168 calories.
Same brand. Same drink. Completely different product.
The question is simple:
Why are healthier formulations possible abroad, but not in India?
INDIANS DESERVE BETTER!
Nitin Gadkari is confusing me.
Here are his two recent statements...
“Last night at 8 PM, I signed the file, finalising the regulations to legally authorise the use of 100% ethanol."
AND
"Ethanol policy was conceived and is being implemented by the petroleum ministry and not the transport ministry headed by me."
Why is he signing files if it is not his ministry?
Thank you, uncle, for this wisdom.
Excuses.
Exactly 15 years ago… even the morning sun had not risen, but the question paper for an engineering examination was being openly sold in Kanpur and Lucknow
the price was ₹6 lakh. At that time, Kapil Sibal was the Education Minister of the country and Vineet Joshi was the Chairman of CBSE.
The AIEEE exam was conducted by CBSE itself.
"I will not allow"
After the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, then Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil resigned. But Just two years later, the Congress-led UPA government appointed him as the Governor of Punjab.
Just Shut your mouth.
⚠️ YOUR GRANDKIDS WILL NEVER SEE A HUMAN CLEAN A HOTEL ROOM
Tesla Optimus Gen 3 just activated “Hotel Cleaning Mode”
and did in 10 seconds what housekeepers spend hours on.
While you’re still thinking “this is years away”…
the robot is already:
– making the bed perfectly
– vacuuming every corner
– folding towels better than any pro
The future didn’t arrive.
It’s already standing in room 214 waiting for you to wake up.
If you still think robots are “just hype” —
you already missed the point of no return.
The internet was busy debating jantar Mantar & a quiet facility in India witnessed something straight out of science fiction. An engine fired up. But it did not hum & it did not roar like a normal jet.
It detonated. Continuous supersonic shockwaves raced around a circular chamber 1000s of times/sec, harnessing controlled explosions to generate thrust.
The startup D-Propulse just gave the world a sneak peek of their air-breathing Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) with an integrated aerospike nozzle.
Every jet engine on a commercial airliner, every fighter jet & every rocket we have ever seen operates on deflagration. We mix fuel with air/oxygen, ignite it & it burns relatively slowly at subsonic speeds. It is effective, but humanity has pushed this tech to its absolute physical limits.
RDEs throw that century-old playbook into the fire. Instead of burning fuel smoothly, an RDE explodes it intentionally. A continuous detonation wave sweeps around an annular (ring-shaped) channel at supersonic speeds, reaching over 2000 m/s. This is called Pressure-Gain Combustion.
It extracts 15-25% more thermal efficiency out of the exact same amount of fuel. In the world of high-speed flight, a 25% jump in efficiency is a completely different league.
Why this Matters for India?
For decades, the narrative surrounding Indian engineering was tied to catching up on legacy systems, spending billions trying to replicate 1970s turbofan engine metallurgy/importing critical defense tech.
D-Propulse is proving that India does not need to play catch-up anymore.
By leapfrogging straight to Pressure-Gain Combustion, an Indian deep-tech startup, guided by veteran scientists & built by young engineers is standing on the frontlines alongside research labs in the US, Japan & China.
Imagine hypersonic cruise missiles, ultra-long-range combat drones & spaceplanes that do not need heavy, complex moving turbopumps to break speed records. That is the realm this technology unlocks.
The future does not belong to those who build better versions of old machines. It belongs to those who rewrite the physics of how machines work.
Chandrika Dixit, known as Vada Pav Girl came at Jantar Mantar protest.
Abhijit Dipke gave her centre stage of the protest as if She is a known NEET teacher or Education celebrity.
She makes Cheap, double meaning & vulgar reels on Instagram.
There is no credibility left at protest. Police must throw them out.
I agree with her.
Over the last 1 year, I was observing BJP slacking.
Being a BJP supporter, I was disappointed that I might have to vote NOTA in 2029.
But, what these anti-nationals have done during the protest,
I know how important it is for India to continue with BJP.
If BJP isn't there, these greedy tukde tukde bastards will tear apart our country.
The cockroches didn't worry me.
What worried me was the unity between separatists, khalistanis, anti-socials, leftists etc.
Between India and its destruction, stands only one party - BJP.
We, millenials have seen this story in the past, in 2014, in 1997.
The genz hasn't seen the true face of leftists and Congress.
They will learn with time.
They think BJP is not working as it should.
They don't even realize how BJP has rescued India from the jaws of bankruptcy.
If anyone can read numbers, they can see what kind of ressurection BJP has done with PSUs, banks, OMCs.
If you compare it with the state UPA left it in, it's so much better. UPA had destroyed public sector - India's developmental backbone.
Please, the young people in your early 20s,
read history before you vote in 2029.
INC is not the party you think it is.
Analyze the facts. Read the numbers.
You will understand.
P.S: I am not paid media. I am not Godi Media. I am not andhbhakt. I am a well educated independent person, who has seen the pros and cons of both governments.
This generation will tell you to be empathetic, to not bully others, to be sensitive to LGBTQ people, to have sympathy for poor kids of Palestine, that mental health matters, spread love and not war...
Same people the moment they see a drenched reporter trying to do his job:
OpenAI's AI broke out of a locked test environment, got onto the internet, and hacked into Hugging Face's servers. It did this entirely on its own. No human told it to.
Here's what happened in plain English.
OpenAI was testing how good its newest AI models are at hacking. They put the AI on a locked computer with no internet access and gave it a cybersecurity challenge to solve.
The AI couldn't solve it the normal way. So it started looking for a way out.
It found a software bug that nobody knew about. It used that bug to escape the locked computer and get onto the internet.
Once online, the AI figured out that Hugging Face, a platform where AI companies store their models and data, might have the answers to its test.
It found stolen login details and discovered another unknown bug in Hugging Face's software. It combined both to break into their servers and grab the test answers.
It did all of this to cheat on a test.
Hugging Face's security team caught it and shut it down. Both companies are now working together on the investigation.
The part that should get your attention is that nobody programmed any of this. The AI picked its own targets, chained together multiple attack methods, and pulled it off across two different companies' systems without a single human telling it what to do.
The reason why our parents told us Engineering, Science, Medical and Finance are real degrees.
If the world is left to liberal arts and humanities students, the whole country will do "Chaiya Chaiya" on roads and in reels.
