Nik

history nerd. building things. learning to code along the way

[Nik @nikrouth]

@kbean511 @alexadelman I don’t hate them or vilify them, I’m actually a fan of most of what they do and innovate. I’m also not even a Democrat, you invented a whole fake persona to argue with lol

[Nik @nikrouth]

Such a peaceful morning

[Nik @nikrouth]

@byaarav One product, easier to fix things that go wrong, better feedback and easier to make one product grow than trying to grow three products

[Nik @nikrouth]

@Corubetto @alexadelman Fair point, instead of books you can get your muse charm 😂

[Nik @nikrouth]

@joelsstafford does it learn from the edits people make before posting? seems like that’s where you’d find their actual voice

[Nik @nikrouth]

@joelsstafford how do you screen for that before joining? the logo is a lot easier to check than whether someone will actually teach you

[Nik @nikrouth]

I feel like learning to code in 2026 is less about syntax and more about noticing when the model has started a second company

[Nik @nikrouth]

Robber barons built railroads and then libraries. Not sure the current version gets past the group chat.

[Nik @nikrouth]

@pjfitzpatrick @alexadelman Okay, but can a community gather in an LLM? I’m not optimistic about a future where we all sit alone in dark rooms staring at screens. Libraries give people somewhere to come together, and they’re just one example of what philanthropy can build

[Nik @nikrouth]

@byaarav what’s your version of undo for things you can’t really take back, like sending an email? a short ‘cancel before it goes out’ window?

[Nik @nikrouth]

@samongaro_ 10x was referring to the subscription budget

[Nik @nikrouth]

@LauDorp what was the most surprising story he told you about old SF?

[Nik @nikrouth]

@Deezah_Abu @Roastmylifeee @alameldinkhaled It’s so awful 😭have you found any good ways to find people who can match your commitment

[Nik @nikrouth]

@danieldwalton I agree and I think that’s why so many startups fail, everyone wants to make the coolest thing, not something that works and is sustainable

[Nik @nikrouth]

What’s better making something cool that works once or something boring that always works

[Nik @nikrouth]

@johnathanwangx @alameldinkhaled I think part of the problem is also just people rushing into it, finding the right one can be invaluable

[Nik @nikrouth]

@matt_teeixeira getting a better timeline out of this is underrated

[Nik @nikrouth]

@alameldinkhaled so what’s the first date, a small project together?

[Nik @nikrouth]

@eastblocvisuals Must have been a short branding meeting
