🧵 At #WCEU in Kraków, @frantorres and I gave a 75-min talk on how to get your plugin ready for the WordPress org directory.
Here's what we covered — and the real security nightmares we showed on stage. 👇
The video for the talk “Get your plugin ready for submission to the directory” with @davidperezmk and me in WordCamp Europe is now live!

https://t.co/aI9fbIrljT is adding a temporary 24-hour delay before plugin and theme updates are distributed through auto-updates. The pause creates a window for security review, including the use of AI-assisted tools that can operate continuously. You can read the full details on what this means for the 78,000+ plugins and themes in the directory. https://t.co/SnLzk0y1Yb
Plugin Check 2.0.0 is out 🛠️
The biggest change: AI false positive detection. After running all checks, PCP now uses AI to review the results and filter out noise — so you only see real issues, not phantom warnings.
You can configure which model to use directly from WP-CLI.
@dannyvankooten Feature freeze probably does not mean abandon (even with security issues). So I don't see this as an issue. It works as it should. I am happy with the plugin.
@JiveDig@LocalWP Due to port conflict, now I use Herd for WordPress and non-WP projects. It is easier and also WP-CLI works without hassle. In the free version of Herd, just need to setup database by ourself.
New release of Plugin Check Plugin 1.9.0.
This release adds WordPress 7.0 AI connector support, new checks for external admin menu links and block metadata compatibility, better plugin updater detection, and several fixes.
