The US cheating and still losing has become the hallmark of its journey under Trump: from trade wars to the Persian Gulf to the World Cup: they cheat, lose, and move on to the next set of lies immediately, like no one noticed, except everyone did
This may be the image that defines America's 250th birthday.
A woman sits calmly on a Washington Metro train as masked members of the white nationalist and domestic terrorist group Patriot Front surround her.
They covered their faces.
She didn't.
Earlier in the day, Patriot Front marched through the nation's capital carrying Confederate flags and chanting that America must be "reclaimed," the latest expression of a white nationalist movement that has grown increasingly visible, violent, emboldened, and politically influential in recent years.
Their ideology is explicit.
Their courage, apparently, is not.
Not one of them was willing to show his face.
And then there is her.
No mask. No uniform. No fear.
Just an American woman refusing to surrender an inch of her dignity to a group of men who appeared to be seeking exactly that.
The symbolism is almost too perfect.
250 years after the Declaration of Independence, and six decades after Americans marched and died to make its promises apply to everyone, a group of masked white nationalists rode the socialist Metro home in anonymity.
The woman they tried to intimidate is the one America will remember.
The people who hide their faces do not define this country.
The people who refuse to be afraid do.
If you call yourself a conservative and you're staying quiet about all the money Trump is making off the presidency after all your whining about the Bidens, the Clintons, and the Obamas, you're a fake-ass bitch or you're truly in a cult.
I assume both.
As someone who always used to be excited for new tech, I am not interested anymore. Everything has gotten so greedy, addictive, expensive and exclusive. They don't solve problems, they create them, and then try to sell you the solution. We're in literal technology hell.
Imagine if Obama was directly connected to Epstein, made $2 billion off crypto scams, grifted a $400 million plane form Arab Royals, and started and lost a war with Iran.
Quote: "This is how USAID spent your tax dollars"
I think people have lost the will to try fact-check this guy due to the volume of lies he spreads.
Also it's actually pretty difficult with this image and quite time consuming.
It just happens I had nothing better to do. /1
One of the many problems with countering lies is it takes two seconds to lie and a lot more effort to share truth.
The truth in this case is that 13 years ago some terrorists stole a USAID tent.
13 years later a trillionaire manipulates that photo to lie.
I'm going to bed.
The problem with Jeff Bezos' ideology is that it's based on a false premise. The idea that "six thousand years ago someone invented the plow" is based on a faulty belief that ancient humans functioned as individuals. They did not.
Ancient humans were collectivist. The likelihood that one individual invented anything is slim to none.
This is the myth of the genius.
Archeological evidence demonstrates that for hundreds of thousands of years, early humans congregated around communal gathering places, like the fire, and engaged in problem solving and passing on of shared learning down through generations.
Additionally, the plow (and tools like it) were developed by humans in Mesopotamia, Europe, Egypt, East Asia, sub-Saharan Africa as well as other places - not in one place by one person. This is known as parallel development.
Believing that the plow was invented by one genius is like believing language was invented by one person. It is a silly myth and represents the projection of current moral standards onto past events.
This is called 'presentism' and it is both an uncritical and ignorant way to view history.
Social learning was the main driver of human evolution. Collectivism is how we both survived and progressed as a species.
The myth of the genius is an example of uncritical analysis and a flawed lens used to justify the grotesque hoarding of wealth and obscene inequality that is currently tearing at the social fabric our species.
It needs to be thrown on the trash heap of history.
Glenn Diesen hos Wolfgang Wee.
Her går jeg blant annet gjennom hvordan Diesen bruker et Arestovytsj-sitat uten avgjørende kontekst, glatter over Russlands krig fra 2014 og feilfremstiller Jacques Baud.
Problemet er også Wees ukritiske intervjuform.

NO billionaire has ever worked as hard as someone who needs two jobs to make rent and has to go home and take care of their kids and clean their own apartment. not even close.
I saw a post on Reddit that said that “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.” And I don’t think I’ve ever seen AI described so incisively.
It's just so weırd how every single thing you're told happens under socialism is happening under capitalism. The bread lines, the unemployment, the authoritarianism.
Somehow I'm currently in the worst possible spot.
AI feels (!) good enough that hand-coding feels inefficient.
But it's bad enough that it's nowhere near to doing it on its own.
Hence thus far it has simply removed the fun part and ensures that I never enter the coding flow state.
Instead it's that weird mixture of reviewing + fixing code, writing some of it, writing specs and prompts, and trying to figure out how to become better at all these tasks.
