A pleasure to speak at the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) Annual Convention & Awards Night in Scarborough along with @MayorOliviaChow.
I will never forget the courage and resilience of the Tamil community in the face of the horrifying genocide committed by the Sri Lankan government during the Rajapaksa reign of terror. According to the UN over 75,000 civilians lost their lives during the Tamil genocide.
I will always advocate for justice, true reconciliation, accountability for the Sri Lankan government war criminals, an end to the ongoing human rights abuses and for a peaceful prosperous Tamil Eelam.
Grateful to be a part of the Tamil Eelam National Flag Raising by Mayor Patrick Brown at Brampton City Hall. Thank you to Mayor Patrick Brown for always supporting the Tamil community on fighting for freedom and justice.

The LTTE was an organization fighting for the Tamil's liberation struggle after many unsuccessful pleas to the Sri Lankan Government. The political discrimination Tamils were facing forced the LTTE to take up arms and function beyond a revolutionary force.

#SriLanka’s financial woes today are the legacy of its #war:a needless conflict to deny #Tamils their right of #selfdetermination. Its #EconomicCrisis is also the cost of the ongoing military occupation over Tamil territory – the North&East of Sri Lanka. https://t.co/3PgNSY1pOq
Commemorating 38 years of Black July, a series of state sponsored anti-Tamil programs which took place in 1983, brutally affecting the lives of 1000s of Eelam Tamils. Black July has been a crucial event pushing towards the Genocide against Tamils, justice has not been served.
Today, on Thanthai Chelva's 44th Remembrance Day, I would like to share this clip played at TGTE's Annual Conference and Awards Night Canada in 2015 to commemorate and honour Thanthai Chelva and his immense contributions fighting for Eelam Tamil's freedom.
