I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show course correct so quickly and so significantly inside a first season like this. Once they did a few episodes it seems like it was so clear to them exactly what was and wasn’t working and then they just went and fixed it.
now that there’s only 2 episodes left in the season I think it’s safe to say that emma & the writers have been relatively successful at testing the audience’s loyalty to rhaenyra (she’s bad at being queen), but not in the way the audience expected (girlboss killing everyone)
Shawn Levy is a steady steward of intellectual property, stays within budget, and doesn’t make shareholders nervous. When I was a kid reading Ghost Rider comics under the covers by flashlight that’s exactly the sort of director I dreamed would one day bring my favorite IP to life
One of the only bits of Superior Spider-Man I remember was Otto being so appalled that Peter doesn’t have a Doctorate and tries to correct it immediately.
Lindsey Graham knew that the surgery to remove ribs in order to suck your own dick had risks. He went forward with clear eyes and a full heart. He died on his own terms.
no single tech company has done more good in recent years to proliferate a love of cinema than Letterboxd, and no single tech company has done more to destroy the entire medium than Netflix
I don't care what he thinks about video games, Roger Ebert had the ultimate redpill on nerd culture as a whole.
This basically describes every fandom on earth, and once you see it, you can never un-see it.
Mallory McMorrow going from Warren Democrat to Gillibrand Democrat in the span of several months is why you should just vote for the most left-leaning person in any Democratic primary by default
President Obama got defensive after Larry David brushed off one of his notes while filming “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness”:
“He gave a few notes about something and Larry went, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got it.’ And the president goes, ‘I spent a half an hour talking about how funny everything is. I give you one note and you get into a defensive crouch,’” director Jeff Schaffer recalls. “The president said, ‘When I was in the Oval Office, I took advice and listened to my advisors, and I was the president of the United States.’ And Larry just goes, ‘Yeah, but I’m the president of this.’”
