The Ministry of Health and Wellness recently visited the Darliston Health Centre in Westmoreland, where residents and staff have been affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

The Bhishm Cube, donated by the Government of India, was utilized to support patient care and treatment at the facility.

The main contributors to this problem is neither the GoJ, ODPEM nor the International NGOs. They are using an active map with live time updates and data from the ground. They are already doing this.

I disagree with connecting with MPs and councilors because I know for sure if that councilor in Darliston was in charge of packages. Only comrades would get .

ODPEM should connect with MP’s/councilors/district constables or someone of influence for each area to conduct more efficient drop offs or to assess how many homeless, what supplies are needed most (tarps, zinc nails etc) so recovery progress can be tracked because if it continues like this I promise you the help we’re getting right now will dry out before we reach anywhere

Why loan the generators?

After the first recipients are reconnected to the grid, thousands of Jamaicans will still be without electricity.

While some can selfishly think about their own benefit from 1 of 400 generators, a leader has the challenge of making 400 serve almost 200,000 Jamaicans in the best possible way.

We have to think critically and stop the madness and divisive rhetoric. Leadership has more moving parts and tougher decisions to make than many would think. Our PM has his table full and I beg us to give him support. Lots of time to pressure him after. But now, let’s recover together.
