@axopoa Please know that the exact opposite is true. You’re a voice whose opinion has been much more aligned with reality than anyone else’s in this domain. I get the feelings of those working on STX, they are trying their best, but not listening contradictory opinions is a bad sign.
@Bardissimo@Bardissimo is post-rationalising his claim that BTC will be displaced by a better technology. Must sting to be so wrong about something that should be just in the field of his claimed expertise.
@axopoa Tbh, this has all the hallmarks of typical stx upgrade… Difficult to understand, especially when it comes to schedule, ambiguous progress and underwhelming reception. However, for those who can stomachache to hold on the long term result is usually worth the wait/risk.
@Fidias0 Is ”tax beneficial” countries, where the total level of tax is lower than equivalent European market, undermining the financials of welfare benefits. And would evening out these differences be an opportunity to improve public finances?
I can honestly say the @Stacks ecosystem changed my life. Here's how I went from $STX ICO participant to 2nd time founder...
I first learned of Stacks in 2017, when it was called Blockstack, and was planning an SEC qualified ICO.
Back then, you could register for vouchers to reserve allocation in the future sale because the details were still being worked out - an SEC qualified ICO had literally never been done before.
18-months later, I bought my full max allocation in the initial sale, and I've been a fan of $STX ever since. Never selling, sometimes buying, always hodling.
The very first post I made from this account was a deep dive thread on Stack's unique consensus mechanism that went semi-viral. I went from 0 to 500 followers with that one thread. @ercwl called it "cute".
Eventually, I got more and more involved in the ecosystem, and I've spent many personal hours with almost every major player in the ecosystem, including @StacksOrg@ALEXLabBTC@trustmachinesco@ZestProtocol@ArkadikoFinance@StackingDao@BTCFrontierFund@btcstartuplab@bitflow@gossamercap@tulle_ai@trygamma and others, plus reviewing SIPs on the Economics CAB.
So, what drew me into the ecosystem in such a die-hard way, spending countless hours learning and mentoring, often entirely unpaid?
3 things come to mind:
1) Building on Bitcoin was, and is, an obvious asymmetric bet.
2) The authenticity of people in the ecosystem like @muneeb and @JudeCNelson is refreshing and unparalleled. Instead of relying on overly aggressive marketing claims, the ecosystem has always focused on the core principle of extending Bitcoin without changing Bitcoin.
3) I had the opportunity to enter the ecosystem on the ground floor via the ICO, and play a small role in the growth and success of the entire network.
This third aspect is crucial. While I would have found Stacks interesting, I never would have been as dedicated and engaged if I were not given an opportunity to participate.
That's why it's tragic that today projects and their communities don't have this option. Tokens are airdropped to bots and mercenary farmers, instead of sold to interested community members who want skin-in-the-game and are ready to grind, to add value, to contribute in a way that VC investors simply can't!
This is exactly why I'm so excited to be working on @legiondotcc, so that more people can find their personal Stacks - the projects they want to support for the long term. The projects they want to grow along with.
The future is bright for Stacks.
The future is bright for community access to ICOs and pre-token rounds.
And the future is bright for Legion.
@matty_ I don’t want to tarnish any other projects, as there are plenty good ones with good intent. But I do believe that short of BTC there are few of any that can sustain in the long run due to not being able to work independently.
@matty_ Bitcoin can serve as a free market option to the risk free interest rate, that is today only served by government bonds. This is, in my humble opinion, the only real use case for crypto, and besides BTC itself there is room for a few technologies/project to leverage this.
