Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize in 1931 for noticing that cancer is greedy.
Specifically, that a tumour burns through sugar at a rate healthy tissue never touches. It was an odd little observation about metabolism, and for decades it mostly sat in textbooks.
Then somebody built a machine on it. Inject a patient with radioactive glucose, wait, and photograph the body. The cancer inhales the sugar and lights up on the scan like a flare, bright against the dark of everything behaving normally. That is a PET scan, it is in every major hospital, and it is reliable precisely because a tumour will always outbid you for sugar and always win.
So the disease has one confirmed, Nobel-winning, billion-pound-industry weakness: it runs on sugar and cannot help itself.
Which is roughly the moment the lunch trolley arrives. White toast. Tinned peaches in syrup. A carton of juice, a biscuit, and a friendly leaflet recommending plenty of good wholesome carbohydrate to keep your strength up.
Upstairs, a scanner worth millions is exploiting the tumour's sweet tooth to hunt it down.
Downstairs, catering is seeing to it personally.
Western industrial foods, full of seed oils and other junk, have infested the Philippines. You can see it in the people, especially in the city. Much more obesity than I observed ten years ago. It's sad.
"Coconut oil can't help you lose fat, it's full of fat and calories!"
This study used coconut oil (1 tbsp) per day for 3 months.
Everything was matched - diet, exercise, only the coconut oil was added.
Coconut oil alone resulted in weight loss and a drop in waist circumference.
It also improved blood pressure + increased HDL ("good cholesterol").
The power of coconut oil lies in its medium chain fats.
Medium chain fats go right into the mitochondria without the CPT1 transported, meaning they easily get burned for energy and almost never get stored as fat.
Animal studies even show coconut oil fed animals have higher resting metabolism.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
Stop worrying.
"Bathing suits" don't help you bathe.
They serve no purpose other than to reinforce body shame and "modesty".
Swimming naked is way more comfortable and more fun.
One goal of the Body Freedom Revolution is to have more beaches and pools become clothing optional.
The coolest people are always the weirdest
Everybody who's ever been successful is a weirdo...going against the grain.
I've been weird my whole life, but until I embraced it I was not free.
Weird comes from the old english word wyrd, meaning "having the power to control destiny"
It also means "something supernatural; uncanny"
Own your weird
The Benefits of Training #Barefoot: "Feet contain dozens of muscles, joints, and ligaments that play an important role in stability ... Going barefoot encourages those structures to work harder, much like training any other muscle group." https://t.co/QyIjYY3VgL
@Avabelly__ I mow the lawn shirtless all the time. People should be able to mow the lawn naked if they want. Forcing people to cover their body is a violation of human rights.
