Investing in private equity is not easy. I was offered one companies' share at Rs. 106. However, this 'friend' said minimum quantity was 100,000 shares. I was not willing to put Rs. 1 cr in a single unlisted share. No splitting into 2-3 folios even for family. I said no.
Then this friend's employee called and said price is now 78, but 1L shares.
I baulked. Got in touch with promoter's family.
Then the share tanked to Rs. 6. The whole deal was stinking.
Luckily, my unwillingness to invest 1C in one unlisted company protected me. Lucky me.

Can Telangana finally get its new airports?

Honestly, I had almost given up on the idea. It felt like these projects would never move beyond files & announcements.

Now, with the Warangal airport tender expected in the coming weeks and an official completion target of June 2, 2028, there is finally something tangible to look at.

The less said about the previous govt’s handling of these projects, the better.

Maybe the optimist in me is speaking. But when I see CM Revanth Reddy consistently following up in Delhi instead of confrontation, it gives me hope.

I’d rather hope for Telangana’s success than wish for them to fail. If airports and metro lines become a reality, we all win. Hope🤞

Today, I came across a post that made me thing deeply.
My mother worked for 39 years at BSNL and retired 6 years ago.

She sold whatever lands she has. After my father passed away 3.5 years ago, we transferred the apartment to her name. She has 5 cr worth of real estate, 50L of FD, 30 lacs of Gold 35 lacs worth of Mutual Funds and gets her pension.

She used to think about saving even 1 rupee on already discounted items and knows how to bargain.

Our parents generation have worked hard all their life to build wealth but always worry if they splurge it.

The best thing I do for my mother is to book Business class tickets to US whenever she goes to US to visit my brother. If we go on a holiday, I make sure she stays in a 5 star property.

Our parents deserve all the comforts in life that they put aside to take care of us and built a roof for us.

BigBasket is slashing its footprint from 76 markets down to about 40 cities that operate profitably.

The plan is a cluster strategy in big cities with denser user profiles, instead of spreading thin across markets.
BigBasket clocked Rs 9,900 crore in FY25 revenue but losses widened to Rs 2,000 crore.

Micropack sold 60% stake for 1175 cr to a US PE.

My Major Concerns-
1. Micropack is the only company in 🇮🇳 with 'mil' approval. This is now controlled by a US PE firm.
2. They do boards for ISRO/DRDO, now its owned by a US PE firm.
3. No other company in 🇮🇳, currently , can produce boards which were being made in micropack. We are catching up(still far) , so no option for ISRO and DRDO to go elsewhere.

How did some Telangana govt officials build such huge wealth?

Critics point to the way the BRS government functioned.

Secretariat remained closed for years, while KCR largely governed from farmhouse. This, they say, reduced day-to-day political supervision over the bureaucracy.

Journalists also had limited access to the Secretariat during the same period, including when major projects like Kaleshwaram were being executed.

With fewer questions from the media and less public scrutiny, officials had greater room to function without accountability.

Some officials enjoyed strong political backing, allowing corruption to flourish without fear of action.

According to this view, the combination of weak oversight, restricted media access, and political protection created an environment where sections of the bureaucracy became unusually powerful.

In contrast, if the opposition today is able to allege “scam after scam,” it is partly because the current system allows greater access and scrutiny, official sources said.
