@Pink_PenguinSS@geoffkeighley idk, but I do think he gets to pick who gets a spot depending on what they can show. I don't think its "Oh Square Enix buy this slot and then just broadcast whatever you like"
@Pink_PenguinSS@geoffkeighley There wasn't an actual reveal of a super hype game IMO. A lot of things we either already knew about, or could already expect. Obv Geoff and his team have no control over that though.
@Pink_PenguinSS@geoffkeighley it might likely be ads, but WuWa x Cyberpunk? 007: The First Light Bawma will return? the Switch segments. Season pass update reveals etc.
@PaulTassi@MicDubTV and yes Marathon is a failure rn. But if they can't/don't want to invest in a full new game atm, then I understand choosing for Marathon over Destiny 2. Cause while the Destiny franchise has a ton of potential, I don't think Destiny 2 has any really.
@PaulTassi@MicDubTV Paul, but surely you too think that Destiny without a fully new game would just continue to struggle onwards. Where do you see a renewed interest without a full rework of how the game works (mainly content format and content delivery).
@RatstronautVt@PaulTassi Yep. Destiny 2 needs a full reboot/sequel it was never gonna go big with the current model. So it needs a huge investment. With Marathon theres maybe a 5% chance it gets bigger with medium investment. I think for the time being SIE picked that 5% over the 0%.
@JustinHall43794@PaulTassi thats not how that works. those 3.8b went to the shareholders and employees of Bungie at that time. That money is not Bungie's or Sony's. Investment here would have to come from Sony or Bungie's own cash
@DaniLoGaEX@DestinyBulletn@DestinyTheGame yeah, theyve been working on Destiny for 12 years. thats all that says. "... we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2"
Destiny to live beyond Destiny 2 says there will be Destiny after Destiny 2.
@Mystikade@JustTeeBee He hasn't confirmed anything with sourcing. It's a bigger State of Play than normal and its being broadcast in theaters. So who knows really.
@Cade_Onder wdym "their financial status within Playstation". If SIE sees value in the Destiny franchise it doesn't matter what the "financial status" (what does that even mean) is. Only thing that matters is if SIE thinks its worth investing into the Destiny IP or not.
@gammaknight1@Devonpo48793495 ur actually insane for trying to pin this on any individual. If you want to find blame somewhere, you should look at leadership (of Bungie and Sony), not individual devs. they have virtually no influence on this.
@ErikInCt_@PaulTassi TLOU (+dlc), the PS4 remaster and TLOU Part 2 were not under Jim Ryan. The remake and the Part 2 remaster plus their ports were all under Jim Ryan.
@SinisterSh0t@DestinyBulletn@DestinyTheGame Ngl, I stopped playing after TFS, but I think the universe itself has a lot of potential. But maybe that shouldn't build on what was done post-TFS
@SinisterSh0t@DestinyBulletn@DestinyTheGame Keep in mind though that SIE (Playstation) has gone through leadership changes since Jim Ryan's departure in 2024. The current CEO has only been CEO since January 2025.
