I see a lot of "the US needs better athletes" playing soccer. 1. That will never happen. 2. I don't think the US is deficient athletically. Most agree that the US is one of the more athletic teams in the world. The issue is the skill level. That is a cultural thing.
I never want to hear again how the USMN Soccer team is filled with world class athletes... I'm sorry but they just aren't. If the we took the top 10 athletes of the US in Football and basketball and put them in soccer... it would be over. I get it, Pulsic. Miss me with the rest.
Why is the there not an "Orange Card" in soccer where a player is removed from the current game and carries a "yellow" into the next game? That would be a great intermediate for what the current yellow to red card situation is .
“A ridiculous red card suspension was overturned. We now have to play against the full American team, it’s not fair.”
— Belgium who was awarded a fake penalty against Senegal a few hours before
Europeans not acknowledging that there is a clear gap in the red card process within Soccer/Football is objectively hilarious. Imagine getting a 1.5 game ban for a horse collar tackle in american football, or a clearly accidental HBP in baseball. It would be incredibly stupid.
If there is even a hint of cleat on back of the foot in any other world cup game and a red card isnt given I will absolutely lose it for the rest of the world cup. What a joke.
@MarkOldacres They should do it like hockey. Very much a casual but hockey has it right. If part of your body is onside then you're onside. That's the one thing I don't like about it.
