What an eventful few weeks its been.

I have taken the decision to resign my commission and take the role of Company Sergeant Major once again. It is a role that I have missed very much. I am looking very forward to be wearing my sash on parade again.

Last night, the battalion received their new colours. This is truly a historic day for the Coldstream Guards and a massive well done to everyone involved.

Earlier this evening, the battalion mustered for the Homecoming parade to officially symbolise our return from Sierra Leone and switch to state ceremonial public duties.

Over the last few weeks, the 1st Battalion deployed to Sierra Leone to combat both humanitarian and combat operations. They now return to the red line for a busy period of public duties, including the King's coronation and Trooping the Colour.

It's been a while, and there have been quite a few changes. I have decided to take a late entry commission and take up the position of No. 2 Company OC. I am now at the rank of Major in the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards.

Two days ago, Battalion Headquarters had invited candidates that had passed their Army Officer Selection Board application. Its safe to say that those who were invited have potential. I wish those who were interviewed the best if luck in the second stage.

Battalion Headquarters gathered to conduct interviews for potential officers and afterwards, took a photo to mark the transition from the winter greatcoat to the summer tunic.

The inaugural Changing of the Guard took place on the 5th of this month. It’s a huge parade and went fantastic. Well done to all involved.

Over the past couple of days, both companies had their inaugural inspections. These help both Battalion Headquarters and Company Headquarters to clearly see the current standard of drill as well as key knowledge of the regiment’s history and key personalities. Fantastic effort!
