@jsrini13 @SJSpotlight@MattMahanSJ A recent study by USF actually shows that a majority (2/3) of the unhoused population live in their home county. https://t.co/QaVcsyQtY4

It appears that the dominoes are falling quite fast. Thoughts?
Santa Clara will make Taylor Swift its honorary mayor for July 28 and 29 and rename the city 'Swiftie Clara' in honor of @taylorswift13's 'Eras Tour' coming to Levi's Stadium.

9 people being appointed by sitting Presidents and then proceeding to serve for LIFE to make laws that impact the entirety of society… CAN YOU NOT SEE THE ABSURDITY?!
Abolish this archaic system built to hoard power. The *whole thing* needs to be gutted.
There are a lot of myths about people who are homeless in California: They’re from another state. They don’t want a job. They don’t want a home. A sweeping UCSF study paints a different picture:cone of people who were working & living in poverty.

This week, the Trump-appointed Supreme Court ruled that it’s not okay for private or public institutions to level the playing field for people of color with affirmative action, but they also ruled that it IS okay for private institutions to discriminate against the LGBTQIA community. On this last day of #Pride month, I’m just pledging to do my part to keep fighting for equity, to keep fighting to make this society we can be proud of.

The Supreme Court's recent rulings were sadly predictable for anyone who understands the hard-right agenda. Their goal has always been to install Justices whose job is to turn back the clock on our freedoms, on decades of constitutional decisions, and on our continuing struggle to “form a more perfect union” that includes all of us.
Let's vote out their political enablers and rein in the dark, subversive money that supports them in their quest to reverse a century of progress.
The world we live in…
5 billionaires on an adventure, lost in the depths of the ocean =
24 hour news coverage + an international $ multimillion search and rescue mission.
Hundreds of desperate migrants seeking refuge, lost at sea =
Barely a mention in the news, rescuers facing prison time for their efforts, far less resources spent.
…wealth above all else.
“Soooo you mean to tell me that someone down your ancestry line survived being chained to other human bodies for several months in the bottom of a disease-infested ship during the Middle Passage, lost their language, customs and traditions, picked up the English language as best they could while working free of charge from sunup to sundown as they watched babies sold from out of their arms and women raped by ruthless slave owners.
Took names with no last names, no birth certificates, no heritage of any kind, braved the Underground Railroad, survived the Civil War to enter into sharecropping... Learned to read and write out of sheer will and determination, faced the burning crosses of the KKK, everted their eyes at the black bodies swinging from ropes hung on trees... Fought in World Wars as soldiers to return to America as boys, marched in Birmingham, hosed in Selma, jailed in Wilmington, assassinated in Memphis, segregated in the South, ghettoed in the North, ignored in history books, stereotyped in Hollywood... and in spite of it all someone in your family line endured every era to make sure you would get here and you receive one rejection, face one obstacle, lose one friend, get overlooked, and you want to quit? How dare you entertain the very thought of quitting. People, you will never know survived from generation to generation so you could succeed. Don’t you dare let them down!
Give this to your young people who don’t know their history and want to get weak!
It is NOT in our DNA to quit!”
My friend Tiffany launched this petition. I gave her some advice based on my experience w/Barack Obama Boulevard.
