Fascinating. A close look at Apple’s secret Siri server based on standard Apple Silicon architecture with integrated CPU, GPU and unified RAM.
It looks like one CPU per (hot-swappable?) riser card, four riser cards per backplane (CPUs on the sides, cooling blocks in the middle), and eight backplanes per server. 32 CPUs per server.
What I don’t see is any SSD storage. Could that live in a separate box? Storage could easily be shared: the weights only need to be loaded once, so disk performance only affects startup time.
Apple could, you know, sell this to compete with Nvidia if they wanted to
