When I was 30 I thought I was so smart.

But in reality I was working a dead end, minimum wage sales job.

So when my dad pointed out the not insignificant gap between how highly I thought of myself and my position in life, I realised I needed to change.

I started by applying the same mindset I'd used in martial arts:

Always be a white belt.

Always be humble and willing to learn.

And on the recommendation of one of my martial arts teachers I bought the book The Success Principles by Jack Canfield which helped teach me how to think and act to be more successful.

Fast forward to 47 year old Andrew and I’ve done pretty well for myself.

So don’t let your starting position in life put you off.

We can all try to better ourselves.

Just be honest with yourself.

A delegation comprising student representatives and association members of the Aspirants of the CSS met with Hon. Syed Naveed Qamar, Member of the National Assembly (MNA), to deliberate on the pressing challenges faced by candidates of the Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations.

The discussion focused primarily on concerns regarding the current age limits and the number of attempts allowed for the CSS exam. The delegation highlighted the disproportionate impact of these restrictions on deserving candidates, particularly those from underprivileged and remote areas, who often face systemic disadvantages in preparing for the highly competitive examination.

Hon. Syed Naveed Qamar attentively listened to the delegation’s concerns and acknowledged the need for inclusive and equitable reform in the CSS examination process. He assured the visiting students of his full cooperation and support in bringing the matter to the relevant forums for policy consideration.

"The future of our civil service must be built on a foundation of fairness and equal opportunity," said Hon. Qamar. "I will raise these concerns in the appropriate legislative and governmental platforms to advocate for much-needed reforms."

The Aspirants of the CSS expressed their appreciation for the positive response and reiterated their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue with policymakers to improve access to civil service opportunities for all.
