Today I learned 2 things:
1. Americans have a hugely inflated sense of their soccer team's proficiency.
2. At least 200 of them can read - and each one of those 200 are very upset with me.

i doubt this person has ever been to America. Americans always get the sideways glance travelling in Europe and i get it. When we visit my girlfriend's parents in Ireland every year we always go in October to avoid Americans because they can be obnoxious. the vast majority of Americans when they meet a foreigner are very welcoming.
Every time I see an American posting about the World Cup it just oozes arrogance, an obsession with financial power and a complete lack of awareness regarding the rest of the world.
So pretty similar to everything they post tbh.
Amazingly this tweet explains Americans very well. The centre of the universe. Theyโre unable to recognize that these atmospheres exist everywhere and itโs not just because their country is co-hosting

Iโm a USWNT fan first. But some of that fan base needs to STFU when it comes to the men. Winning back to back games in a World Cup is an accomplishment for the men. Something they havenโt achieved since 1930. They donโt have the standards that the USWNT does yet, and thatโs okay
