Victor Davis Hanson: The Wall Street Journal Admits the Economy Was Never As Bad As They Were Saying

After criticizing Trump’s economic policy, from tariffs to tax cuts, the Wall Street Journal has changed its tune in the last week.

Now, the editorial board says that, despite high gas prices, inflation hasn’t spiked like it said it would, and basically everything is booming: “ So now the question is, are they going to vote in a party that gave us 21% inflation just two years ago over four years.”

Austin voters approved money for 66 projects, and the city quietly canceled them.

When the city wants to build things like parks, roads, or libraries, it asks voters to approve a loan called a bond. Voters said yes. Now the city's own website shows 66 of those projects were canceled, and the money got moved somewhere else.

And now City Hall wants voters to approve another $295 million.

You voted for those projects. You deserve to know where your money went. Prop I would make the city bring in outside auditors to check its spending, and City Hall couldn't cancel that either.

A Maryland sheriff just walked into Congress, stared down Democrats, and said what they never wanted on the record.
Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler of Harford County didn’t come to play nice. He came to accuse his own state’s sanctuary laws of turning Maryland into a safe harbor for criminal illegal aliens — and then he sued to blow those laws apart.
He laid it out cold:
The 287(g) program that lets local jails screen inmates for ICE? Signed into law by Bill Clinton. Expanded under Barack Obama. Both Democrats.
Harford County used it. They checked every inmate.
Now Maryland’s Democratic legislature is trying to BAN the exact same tool.
So Gahler and 17 other Maryland sheriffs — two-thirds of the state’s sheriffs — filed a federal lawsuit to strike down the Community Trust Act as unconstitutional and dangerous.
He told Congress the murders of Kayla Hamilton and Rachel Morin in his own county were 100% preventable if federal immigration law had simply been enforced.
His demand was blunt: Kill these ultra-sanctuary policies before more innocent people die.
This isn’t a press release. This is a sheriff who refused to stand down.

I posted this excerpt from
Fauci’s work diary a couple of days ago.

It’s still baking my noodle how unhinged Fauci was in private. I think this single passage from his work notes reveals more about his psyche than most any other I’ve seen.

This does not sound like a man who is okay— or confident about the advice he is giving the public.

He removes the mask that he insists everyone else wears, and then says he was “forced” to do so because people were taking photos of him and eating and drinking.

This makes no sense.

It also reveals once more how people behaved one way for cameras and then quite differently in private. Masks were always a facade.

Then he weirdly likens himself to Elvis Presley.

Then he obsessively worries he’s caught Covid even though he’s multi-vaccinated and everyone around him was required to be.

He admits that the vaccine is pointless in terms of infection and spread. And he is so fearful, he seems to acknowledge the vaccine will not ensure you have only a mild case, as he and other officials were claiming.

Maybe he was seeing all the recommended measures fail, and it was hitting home. No way out from the box he’d painted himself into.

So he writes how he laid awake and stared at the ceiling. So worried that he’d caught Covid.

So odd.

Right-wing explanations for the French riots run from mass migration and Islam to sarcastic talk of “cultural enrichment.” Those are partly true. But do not explain why so many white, indigenous kids are taking part.

Left-wing media blames the state of French education and police brutality. That does not explain the scale of the destruction, or why it has spread to Belgium.

The truth is worse.

This is the revolt of Gen Z and Gen Alpha. A generation stripped of identity. It is the endgame of anti-nationalism, of anti-French postwar self-hatred.

Boomers taught these kids to hate their own cultural inheritance. So now they have none. Without that internal order, chaos follows.

This is not only about foreign cultures. It is the slow murder of European culture, over decades, by its own leaders.

The same void underlay the American BLM riots and the British pro-Palestine riots.

Western civilisation is the greatest humanity has yet produced. It is under attack from inside and out — a spiritual attack.

Kids should be proud of their home. They need to be. They need an identity. And, as an Englishman, I hate to say it, that applies even to the French.

Here’s how the scam works

- Anyone with an EBT card comes in and buys an item
- The store adjusts the price of that item to the amount of money that’s on the person’s EBT card
- The store gives the person 50 cents on the dollar for the balance on the EBT card

Meaning is you have $120 on your EBT card, you’re able to exchange it for $60 cash and the store pockets the rest of the money for doing the transaction

This is a scam that is happening nationwide. There have even been so many mainstream media stories where this has been highlighted as a common scam

This is OUR tax money being stolen
