Callais: We’re not changing the test for discriminatory intent claims.
AL district court: Okay, we find discriminatory intent.
SCOTUS tonight: You misread Callais. We’re reversing you.
It's a lot easier to understand fashion/ clothing if you think of it in terms of social language, not purely in terms of function or artistic expression. I will give you some examples. 🧵
Many of these people simply want to be patted on the back for wearing a tailored jacket, even if the outfit is ugly. They want people to think they're sophisticated, masculine, reverent of traditions, etc. The goal is to tell you that they're better than hoi polloi.
I sad that, despite belabouring the point over and over again, it still does not come through. So I will make another attempt at explaining why I think respectability in dress is stupid. 🧵
it's funny how many people here ask why i have to be political when other menswear accounts will post old ralph lauren ads and regurgitate slop like "the west has lost its spirit." those accounts are also political; they simply can't say anything substantive about clothes
@lxeagle17 Agree. Never understood why those liberal circles held that belief, particularly because Obama’s problems were more daunting and his total legislative output was more productive and significant.
I still think Harris doesn't quite get her due. Going from VP to POTUS candidate is hard! She was like a backup QB who didn't practice with the team all season suddenly called into the Super Bowl because the QB is injured and the team is down 10 and they lose by 3. 1/
The red wave hit this year: a ~6% national swing to Trump, from 2020 margins.
In Wisconsin, thousands of heroes pulled the swing down to 1.5%. More D votes statewide & in 46 counties. Tammy Baldwin won. Huge wins in the state legislature.
Deeply grateful to all—it mattered.

You hear Republicans embracing Donald Trump’s tariff policy, attacking Liz Cheney’s foreign policy, and praising RFK Jr’s public health policy and you really have to wonder what this party actually stands for anymore
Translation: I was very comfortable lying about Joe Biden to help me benefit personally and politically, but when my district needed his help he showed up and delivered—despite my behavior. I should be ashamed, but I’ll instead say I was impressed.
The year is 2034. Supreme Leader Harris has instituted communism and appointed me Outfit Czar. You hear a knock at the door. The government has come to confiscate your dress sneakers.
Taiwan’s first gold medal! Watch the crowd outside a Tainan mall go bunkers as the Taiwanese badminton pair takes down their Chinese opponents in the Olympic final.
This is a very bad and inaccurate reading of my views. Not only do I frequently link aesthetics to politics and culture, but I think things are improving in all these areas. I will explain in this thread. 🧵
