look closely at the beginning of the video. the bow of the fishing boat is pointing at the starboard of the ship, then switches to the port. The captain was using the bow thrusters to try to escape, but the current keeps pulling them back. if the oncoming ship had a 15 meter draft then they would have been repelled. It doesnt mean they wouldnt have capsized, but it does mean they mightve been able to aim away.
