@venky_says The way he lives his life, takes so much care of what goes in and around him. I feel it would just be irresponsible for him not to do what he did. Maybe he knew that it would be good for business - but the risk of losing a few points on his health markers would be a bigger loss

@venky_says Not really for us to debate, our sample spaces are probably different. I get your point as an argument but from what I have seen, giving money DTA to anyone other than ones who are absolutely in no shape to work is a bad idea.

@venky_says Most of them are not as ambitious as you and I. The free ration from govt, and a few thousands are enough to get them by. I am not saying all of them are like this. But you'd be surprised by the number of people who are surviving off their parents' old people govt pension.

@venky_says And I do not say these things lightly. I have seen these things. Freebies are ruining the rural poor. At least with mnrega they go to a place and a few people meet and socialise(they don't work more than an hour a day).
And for the honest ones, 2k is not enough to put a dent
