🇳🇱🇺🇳 Pleased to welcome the Dutch Representative in Ramallah, H.E. @MRentenaar, to Am’ari Camp.
The visit highlighted the severe economic pressures facing residents and frequent security incursions.
Amid these challenges, @UNRWA remains present, delivering essential services to #Palestine Refugees.
We greatly appreciate the #Netherlands’ continued support for UNRWA. 🤝
Volgens mij kan er maar één antwoord zijn: handen af van het Internationaal Strafhof en alle andere instituties die de internationale rechtsorde beschermen.
What does peace mean in a family’s everyday life? 🕊️
Going to school. Going to work. Feeling safe at home. Planning what comes next.
For millions of #Palestine Refugees, these ordinary parts of life are lived amid uncertainty and disruption.
🌍 A reminder this #PeaceDay: investing in peace means investing in people and their future.
#InvestInPeace
Leadership. Humanity. Action.

On 25 August 2026 Israeli authorities - security forces and municipal staff, along with an elected official - forcibly and unlawfully entered the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre (KTC) in occupied East Jerusalem and forced out UNRWA staff. Israeli authorities have remained inside the premises and begun renovation and clearance works.
Yesterday, on 28 August, Israeli security forces seemingly vacated the KTC. They left behind damage to UN assets and signs of looting.
At the time of the unlawful entry, the KTC was being prepared for the new academic year, expecting to receive 340 students from across the West Bank next week.
The KTC consists of tens of training workshops, classrooms, dormitories, and administrative buildings. It holds valuable tools and equipment for practical vocational training. UNRWA's assets in the KTC are worth more than US$5 million.
UNRWA and its international partners have made considerable investments into the KTC over the past years - providing training equipment, enabling infrastructure improvements, and ensuring maintenance and repairs. Such project activities were ongoing at the time of the forcible entry.
UNRWA emphasises the obligation of protecting the KTC and its assets, given its vital role in providing Palestine Refugee youth with education and skills for their future. The Government of Israel has a legal obligation to ensure that its actions are reversed without delay and to prevent the recurrence of any similar actions.

The forcible and unauthorised entry of Israeli forces into UNRWA’s Kalandia Training Centre is deeply alarming and threatens access to education and training for young #Palestine Refugees.
Their opportunities and future must be protected.

🇺🇳@UNRWA: The story you may have missed.
In 2024, the independent #ColonnaReport set out 50 recommendations to further strengthen UNRWA's neutrality, oversight and accountability.
Two years on, actions speak louder than words.
Committed to transparency, UNRWA has completed 41 of the 50 recommendations to date.
UNRWA also achieved 100% implementation of all activities planned for 2024 and 2025.
This includes:
➡️Enhanced neutrality safeguards
➡️Improved vetting and screening processes
➡️Strengthened oversight and accountability mechanisms
➡️Public access to information on UNRWA projects through the Agency's first transparency portal

At #CEAPAD in Manila, UNRWA Commissioner-General a.i. @CFSaundersUN stressed that the Agency remains essential not only to meeting immediate humanitarian needs, but also to supporting recovery, stability and the development of capable Palestinian institutions.
He called on Member States to protect UNRWA’s ability to operate, challenge false narratives and provide the sustained political and financial support needed to help build the conditions for a just and lasting peace.
#UNRWA is not part of the conflict.
Our services throughout the region remain essential.
In my interview with #APA, published by @sn_aktuell, I spoke about:
• UNRWA's humanitarian and developmental mandate in practice.
• The realities facing#Palestine Refugees in Gaza and the West Bank.
• How our teams continue delivering essential services despite immense challenges.
@UNRWA faces a funding shortfall of more than US$100 million. Without urgent support, critical services are at risk.
