@FilmCritHULK Amazing essay and something I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The thing that made me start thinking it was Great British Bake-Off and the fact that basically everyone likes the occasional episodes where no-one gets kicked out. Andrew
@eligoldstone My actual (private) account literally only followed you because of a prerelease catalogue blurb about a killer swan entertained me. Finding out how good a writer you are, then seeing projects like this appear is simultaneously bemusing and yet completely logical. It’s wonderful.
@Chef1 Are the recovery rates that difficult to calculate when you’ve got the hospitalisations and the deaths? It’s very, very clear the vast majority recover.
@eligoldstone Too many people (of which most are men, clearly) think it’s something rare rather than something that affects so many individuals. The only hope is the next generation of filmmakers will be more educated.
@ScotStratGuy Laptops in a good dock with a great monitor and a dedicated keyboard and mouse (and a good chair!) are pretty indistinguishable these days. But it also means you can work elsewhere if the other goes in for repair etc. Worth considering.
@ScotStratGuy Only if she’s handling huge photoshop files or maker involves CAD software. Is she happy with the laptop performance? If so, arguably another laptop and a great monitor is a good option too.
@_cinnamonro11_ No, you’ll be fine. They really don’t have a vastly different digestive system to people and regulations about production aren’t that different either.
@Stillberto I think you’re massively underestimating FIFA and Football Manager. The latter was available to play for free during lockdown, and he’s been good in it since 2015.
If you said “has watched him play 90 minutes of a real football match” I think you’d be too low.
Just cos someone says something doesn't make it true. I'd be embarrassed to send this out. 1 Mushroom, 1 small sausage, half a tom and what's all the fanfare about having a runny egg? Jeez
@ManMadeMoon People they want to assassinate are in the UK and we won’t/can’t do anything about it. But expansionism doesn’t stretch to here. They don’t care about us other than ensuring we stay in disarray.
@ManMadeMoon I think you’re over-estimating how much Russia cares about the individual countries in the West right now. As long as the West is kept busy, so they won’t intervene as Russia tries to get back on its feet, we’re fine to do whatever.
@Nigella_Lawson I’ve made this in the past, but I’ve since started going one step further and adding eggs to get a sort of marmite carbonara and it is a top level “I stayed in bed too long to really call this breakfast but that is what it is” meal.
