@OriginalMack1@RepRussellFry@SCNationalGuard I have no idea what their approved flight plan included. I know the whole reason those birds were in the air was to garner positive attention and draw talent to the SCNG. They definitely achieved their objective. My 6 year old hasn’t stopped talking about it. Strategic Victory
@OriginalMack1@RepRussellFry@SCNationalGuard I can’t speak for their entire route but I didn’t even feel sand from the rotor wash where I was standing. In the video you don’t see anyone fleeing the “danger”. In the Navy we performed countless VERTREPs that were more dangerous than this flight profile.
@OspreyMedia843@TrooperBob_SC Fair enough but I could also argue that Apaches are designed with not merely “uncontrolled” but contested airspace in mind. The guys behind the stick in those airframes had more skin in the game than anyone else and deemed the risks acceptable.
@KylesSkyles@MarkZinno Disagree, I was there it was awesome. Had 10 times the effect of the Air Force flying F-16s and a C-17 a great distance away. The SCNG that was flying the Apaches stole the show.
@OspreyMedia843@TrooperBob_SC Lame take, I was there it was awesome. These guys were getting the SCNG an excellent return on investment, totally showed up the Air Force.
@TheBigSpurOn3 Travelled to this game in Athens. Walking back to the bus after the victory some UGA fan threw a beer can at my 70 year old grandfather. Still had a great time.
