Exciting news! The TACS Challenge (https://t.co/3FZm9jk0N4 ) has finally reached the next stage. We have drafted a registered report (stage 1) which is almost ready to be submitted. The only thing that is missing is YOU!
We have put together an open, fully automated pipeline for #EEG preprocessing and analysis. It integrates @BIDSstandard, #EEGLAB and @fieldtriptoolbox elements to facilitate #biomarker discovery in clinical neurosciences. @Joachim_Gross@AcademicEEG

Ever wonder how spontaneous rhythms of cognition interact with temporal structure in the environment? This preprint is for you! And 🎉 Congrats to Leah Snapiri 🎉 on putting out the first paper from her exciting PhD work!

Is #FreeWill just a passing phase? In collaboration with @nsbland@MSale1234@CunningtonLab, we show that electric brain stimulation could influence the time at which people made voluntary actions outside of their conscious awareness. #neuro#psych#UQ https://t.co/zlD3Vagslm
For @EJNeuroscience's special issue #RhythmsInCognition, I dipped into early EEG/oscillation literature & wrote about why it's important and worthwhile to read "old" science. Part history, part review, part rant: there's something 4 every1! #openaccess https://t.co/NAdmGlLrx8 1/3
My 5min lightning talk at #SIPS2021, highlighting where @projectFOK is at and what we've been up to the past year. Check it out!

Event-locked amplitude and phase modulations to #tACS by heartbeat and respiration can be used to create time-varying artefact templates that suppress spectral symmetry in the #EEG around the AC frequency. Approach may be feasible even in the absence of #ECG recordings.
🧠I have got my first first-author research paper out!
It is a weird feeling to see 3 year+ of research condensed in a few pages🧡 Very proud of it!

@FlavioFrohlich I am also curious to know what impact the decision to remove all MEPs with amplitudes below 50 μV had on the reported effect sizes. These 'dud' responses are typically retained and embraced as a natural part of MEP variability. #TMS#tDCS
I am unmoved by this reply. Assuming all the listed attempts to minimise variability DOUBLE the effect sizes for tDCS on MEP amplitude, not a single experiment from one million generates data this compelling (i.e., neither anodal nor cathodal responses overlapped with sham).
@FlavioFrohlich Yup, read the entire letter😆 It boils down to whether your stimulation protocol was special enough to observe SMDs of 3.55 and −4.32 for anodal and cathodal tDCS, in the respective contexts of their 95% CIs [0.49, 0.86] and [–0.78, −0.39], generated from various protocols.
After years of hard work, support by @USBrainAlliance and @NIMHgov, we are happy to share with you all our paper by @AngelWHuang (grad student in our lab) and collaborators on the mechanism of action of #tACS. https://t.co/DJf9wH0Azq
@JNeurophysiol @uqnews Fig 3 is a toy example demonstrating what the real and imaginary parts of coherence capture about phase angle 💁♂️ There are (hopefully) more interesting figures in the article 😆
An attempt to capture entrainment echos outlasting slow-wave #tACS using #TMS-evoked MEPs by PhD student Asher Geffen. General increase in MEP amplitude across tACS blocks, but no phase-dependence.

So happy that this is out! Our latest @brainstimj paper shows that the choice of EEG-montage is crucial for detecting a relationship between mu-power and corticospinal excitability. @DRCMR_MRI@HSiebner@k_h_madsen
