Tomorrow's US presidential election - in charts. For 2024, while the whole world is watching and holding their breath, or meddling via AI and social media, while US government called in reserves of the National Guard, my thoughts and prayers are for:
1. decisive victory for the winner
2. no murky and protracted investigations
3. US electorate is united and optimistic for the future
4. peaceful transition of power
5. law abiding behavior from all sides
----------
So who will it be?
- @Poslymarket predict @KamalaHarris will win popular vote while @realDonaldTrump will win the election
- @NateSilver538 states, @KamalaHarris is ahead in National Polls by 1%
- See charts for each of the 7 swing states: spread among the 2 presidential candidates is between 0.1% (NV) to 2.3% (AZ)
- These spreads are within the margin of error of ALL polls => it's a tossup
New statement from former Vice President Cheney:
“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.
As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris."

President Biden is right, there is no place in America for this kind of violence. As a country we may not agree on everything, but we should be able to agree on that.
This iconic photo taken by @AP photojournalist @evanvucci will define #AmericanHistory for years to come. Legendary. No matter what your political bias or affiliation, it's impossible not to be in awe how the presidential candidate and former president @realDonaldTrump responded to his assassination attempt. Within seconds of being shot at, with blood on his face, he defiantly and forcefully pumps his fist up in the air to communicate with the crowd, that he is alive and well, and will fight on. While tightly surrounded by the @SecretService , in the backdrop of the #americanflag.
As if on cue, the crowd starts chanting USA, USA, USA ... Not "Trump". Not a campaign slogan. Not adulation or prayer. Instead, viscerally converging on what unites us all -- this country, USA, with all its faults, imperfections, frustrations, and politics, and yet we're all here for what it has always strived to be since its inception: liberty, freedom, opportunity, human values, and a place you want to pass on to your children and grand-children.
Iconic photo -- history is made.
