@entropyreducers @TheEcomNomad @LundukeJournal Without being aware of actual reports, it makes sense to me that quality would degenerate that way, either because small flaws compound or because (I expect that) AI generated code has to be less diverse at some level. But that's closer to an intuition than an educated guess.
@YinzerDev@LundukeJournal I don't see anywhere that "they want less (cis)male people involved in the Debian project", only that they want to see more of the others. No idea how they'd try to make that happen, but till I see some decision that actually affects the project's technical qualities, it's noise.
@YinzerDev@LundukeJournal I think thankfully most people don't care about these things and simply want to focus on the technical stuff that interest them. If they see or hear something stupid they might eyeroll and get back to doing what they want to be doing, which is unlikely to overlap.
@Itsfoss Redhat, Suse, Caldera, all of which failed to help me understand the individual systems and how they work together. Then, thankfully, Slackware. My journey might have ended in its infancy otherwise.
@LibAntagonist@pureMetatron 2/2 The reason Chinese dependence has been demonized, is because we don't share the same values. If the US thinks it's fair to take whatever it wants by force, it seems we don't share the same values with it either.
@LibAntagonist@pureMetatron 1/2 Which is fair game. The US was free to try and do the same. Threatening to use force against another country on the other hand, just because it has something that you want, is not fair game.
@pureMetatron Indeed @pureMetatron, I think it deserves a video. Stupidity needs bashing no matter where it comes from. As far as I'm concerned, Trump's entitlement is too obviously absurd to even dignify commenting on it, but given the seriousness of the situation, I hope you do.
Good morning. At some point this summer, perhaps quite soon, @AIatMeta will be releasing a LLaMA-3 model with 400B parameters. It will likely be the strongest open-source LLM ever released by a wide margin.
This is a thread about how to run it locally. 🧵
@Tees_Issues How does it always come to be a choice of trying to figure who would be more likely to do the least harm, I don't know. You'd think that in countries of millions of people, some better figures would be possible to emerge, but no. Consistently, across most countries.
@Tees_Issues He's just the dhead that exists if you take away the pretenses of all/most other popular politicians. He'll lie, wield his idiocity and embrace his inner arsehole proudly, instead of following the tradition of pretending slightly convincingly. Somehow many find that refreshing.
@FatknackersC @Tees_Issues In my experience people who are willing and try hard, do find a reasonable place eventually. After some tough years, sure, but what's a better alternative? Not being able to work, is depriving them from that chance, makes others see them as burden and perpetuates the problem.
@Tees_Issues Nobody can know for sure but.. her changes were too unorthodox, with neither the experience nor a realistic plan to back them. She'd need to be either a (secret) genius or really lucky. Bad odds. The fact she didn't realize how the markets would react is an indication on its own.
Boycott Haier! I bought two appliances because of the @home_assistant integration. They truly have shot themselves in the foot with their heavy handed approach. Haier's most loyal customers add value to @HaierAppliances at zero cost to @HaierEurope. 300k active HA users alienated
