On here, I used to use fake female/male identities https://t.co/CT4wjeHcgN). I included fake affiliations.
It was creepy of me. I want to see if people's reactions to my tweets changed based on others' perceptions of me.
Forgive me.
I'm faceless now to avoid preconceptions.
In 1998, I was fired from my corporate job while 9 months pregnant because and I quote, “my priorities would be elsewhere after the baby is born.”
The lawyer I hired told me I didn’t have a case because discrimination like “that” was almost impossible to prove.
So I got pissed.
Took the LSAT. Went to law school. Passed the bar. Had 3 more kids.
Twelve years later, another woman from that same company was fired for the same reason. She sued them for a million dollars, and won, partly because I had kept every piece of evidence from what happened to me years prior demonstrating a systemic pattern of discrimination against women.
That company no longer exists. My law practice is thriving. And that baby they said would derail my priorities? She’s a brilliant attorney now working at my firm.
Turns out my priorities were indeed, elsewhere.
@ceoaiden@catholichiara It’s more so I really am pro-love. I struggle with the fact that kissing is not a mortal sin, but sex is! If kissing can be a sign of affection, can sex be a sign of affection also! Sex isn’t lustful in itself, it , like kissing, is part of romantic love. 💕
@JayBoss616@soidntgetfind@FeelsGuy2003 I agree that kissing can be a sign of affection between friends. In that case, “kissing” would be a sign of friendship with one’s girlfriend. It can be used as a sign of friendship with any friend.
@ceoaiden@catholichiara I ask because I’m not sure the I think the distinction between romantic love, “lustful love” and love between friends. For example, one could argue that romantic love can include sexual pleasures or they can view romantic love as expression of friendship between friends.
@Yayay82827@kingofthehood89@chris I think everyone can think for themself. I believe it is good. I cannot “parrot” an apologist because I am in a relational world - I am a being in the sea of beings figuring things out, going in the direction of love, justice, peace and goodwill hopefully.
@Yayay82827@kingofthehood89@chris I disagree that fornication has a specific meaning. I believe it is a complex, relational matter that is up to every person to relate to their own being, conscience, sexuality and integrated with their relationship with God, humanity and people.
@Yayay82827 It is about the definition to the reader and giving them the space for their moral conscience. IMO,I cannot “define” fornication for any one individual because it is a relational, independent concept that is outside my person. It is for each person to determine. That is dignity.
@Yayay82827@kingofthehood89@chris I ask that because I think it’s impossible to claim ownership over the church, nor act as a representative. I think our fundamental relationship with the church is relational. The church relationship is relational. I got that from “Chris Damien.”
@Yayay82827@kingofthehood89@chris I ask that because I don’t think the answer is cut and dry. I think there is a lot of confusion on the topic, myself included.
