I don't want to be one of those people who wastes their time criticizing "hypocrisy" in foreign policy, but holy fucking shit, dude. Jesus Christ. My God.

I will never, ever express sympathy for Israelis. Ever. Under any circumstances. To do so would be irresponsible, because Israel always weaponizes sympathy and then uses that weapon to commit mass atrocities. If the world gives Israel sympathy for civilians injured by an Iranian airstrike over the weekend in a war Israel started, by Friday they'll be using that sympathy to justify nuking Tehran.

I don't enjoy holding this position. It goes against every natural human impulse inside me. But Israel, by its nature, has made it the only responsible position to hold.

History has clearly established that the world was wrong to give Israel sympathy for October 7. The correct and moral thing to have done would have been for everyone to say "That's what you get for being a murderous apartheid state," and then sanction Israel into the Stone Age until they dismantled their abusive ethnonationalist regime. That would have been the right position for the world to take.

And that's how we need to be with Israel going forward. No sympathy. No support. We've got to treat them the same way you'd treat a malignant narcissist who solicits sympathy and then weaponizes it at every opportunity. To do otherwise would be irresponsible. It's just not safe.

It's hard to imagine a more catastrophic betrayal of Europe's geopolitical position. Not only is this completely delusional in practical terms, but it deliberately antagonizes the one major power that isn't yet clearly hostile to Europe. In what universe does it benefit a continent already at war with Russia and facing an increasingly hostile Washington to voluntarily make an enemy of Beijing as well? It's as if she's determined to ensure Europe stands alone against all major powers simultaneously. It's strategic stupidity of the highest order.

I understand that Kallas probably says so in order to appease the US, as a message that they shouldn't be too hostile against Europe because they can help them against China. But even that makes no strategic sense whatsoever: the one thing that could actually give Europe leverage in its dealings with the US is the possibility of closer economic and strategic alignment with China. By publicly framing China as an adversary to be "defeated," Kallas is basically telling Trump that Europe has no alternative but to accept whatever terms he dictates.

More than anything, it shows that Europe hasn't even begun to understand how power works: positioning yourself as a vassal who eagerly anticipates your parton's wishes earns you zero respect, you just get exploited, especially with someone like Trump. This should be THE big lesson of the moment for Europeans.

Kallas's words are frankly akin to high treason: she's unilaterally choosing to disarm in what's potentially Europe's most consequential geopolitical chess match in its existence, even as Europe is already playing from a position of extreme weakness.

There is no overstating just how absolutely insane this is. There is no precedent - NONE - of a state deliberately bombing an embassy. It didn't even happen during WW1, WW2 or even the 19th century. Heck even during the medieval era and Roman empire, the protection of envoys and messengers - even from enemy states - was a recognized norm.

The only other historical instance was NATO bombing the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1999, killing 3 Chinese journalists, but the U.S. profusely apologized, Bill Clinton publicly said it was a mistake (something China still doesn't believe to this day), compensated the families and paid to rebuild the embassy. All this highlighting how profound a taboo this is in international relations.

Israel now doing this - and it obviously isn't a mistake - shows just how rogue and unhinged it has become as a state. It's literally become beyond the pale on a scale that goes back centuries, even millennia.

If the world doesn't forcefully respond to this, it undermines the very core of international relations: the sanctity of diplomacy. And if that's the case, we're literally entering a world we've never known.

People are waking up to the insane amount of propaganda in Western mainstream media and think it's new.

It's not, it's just that you finally found cause to pay enough attention to notice it.

Folks who've been following news about geopolitical opponents of the West (China, Russia, Iraq back in the early 2,000s or you even go back to the Cold war) can tell you it's a feature, not a bug. Western mainstream media's role is to create a narrative environment that justifies the policies the West adopts, to manufacture consent. It has very, very little to do with a search for truth.
