Rachel Robinson is 103 years old, widowed over half a century ago, never remarried, and has dedicated her adult life to preserving and building upon her husband’s legacy.
My first wife left me because I accidentally put a pair of clean socks in the dirty clothes hamper.
@OrevaZSN I’ve found it quite useful for things that it is good at, and quite useless for things it’s not good at. Huge productivity assist, and you find out what it sucks at pretty quickly.
@RaleighReporter *except in the case of the (illegal) sale to minors of an otherwise legal product, so this could trigger it for legal products as you speculate.
@RaleighReporter It’s the same deal as the Unauthorized Substance Tax. What they’re describing as being taxable is not a legal product, and this is a way to get you for tax evasion if you’re found to have it, as you can technically obtain said stamps, but nobody does. https://t.co/kopW4q0iNm
@JoeBrunoWSOC9 If the right-of-way in front of your property is abandoned, per statute, your full ownership interest is restored to the centerline (minus a remainder interest in any utility easements). This is legally more than Sheila selling sea shell shaped sea salt scrubs on the sidewalk.
@JoeBrunoWSOC9 One thing that is overlooked in this debate is that the adjacent owner retains a remainder interest in the public right-of-way upon which said “street vending” is being conducted. It’s legally a passageway for transit, not an economic opportunity for whatever rando shows up first
tell me why I'm at the beach watching the sunset & this random Mexican man approaches me & says "you're welcome here, amigo. I fookin loved Martin Luther King!" & then proceeded to tell me how when Dr King was killed he threw the first brick that started riots in Mexico City 😭
Of the four sports involved in this missed-the-mark analogy, hockey is the least popular — especially in the southern US
Secondly, the pretty-one-sided-break-up of the Charlotte Checkers and Carolina Hurricanes after a decade as affiliates, doesn’t exactly foster loyalty-driven interest
But also, it’s just untrue. Had my Canes sweater on yesterday about an hour before puck drop, ran to Harris Teeter at Cotswold and got a handful of “Go Canes” just in the five-minute beer run
I’ve never been at a #Panthers game and said, “why aren’t people from Raleigh here as much as Charlotte residents? Why don’t they love their distant cousins?”, or whatever weird thing this was ⬇️
If you have any videos of loud cars in Charlotte or if you see any this weekend, please post them here or email me [email protected]
Good chance this is my story Monday
North Carolina’s community college system is a strong example of effective and efficient workforce governance. The colleges utilize management flexibility and are considerate of staffing needs. With less than half a percent vacancy rate out of a workforce of over 31,000 personnel, our community colleges should serve as a goalpost for other state agencies in efforts to keep workforce vacancy rates low.
@_Rob__G_ The resignation of an elected official in NC can be withdrawn at any time prior to it becoming effective. It can’t be unilaterally extended to an unspecified date, but a subsequent notice of resignation can become effective immediately, as desired by the officeholder.
