@MicahS22@BoxScore_FB Massacred? I can think of many schools that lost a hell of a lot worse.
Game was never in doubt, but UConn kept it interesting until a couple late TD’s.
@puffboxdaddy@SpaceMonkey4K@theACC@Big12Conference Ok toughie!
You can call it whatever you want.
I don’t know that state flagship alone is some alpha metric.
As for taking who they want, let’s be honest. It’s who Fox or ESPN is willing to pay for.
@Bill_CFB_Guy@Pac12Central I think UConn is ahead of Tulane.
USF is 1A, UConn is 1B, and then I think it’s Tulane.
Memphis in ACC when they wouldn’t sniff WVU is a tall order.
I don’t see academies moving to P4. They couldn’t compete long term given nature of recruits. Olympic sports would get crushed.
@musicandroots@yitzgood You can debate the degrees being targeted, but it’s a step in right direction. Much better than our current path of big student debt and people screaming for loan forgiveness
@musicandroots@yitzgood It seems you’re arguing against the initial point of the admin.
College tuition is up because the govt said well let anyone borrow for any degree. More students, more money, college tuition goes up.
This admin has said Less funding, less students means schools will reduce cost
@musicandroots@hottea2026 You do understand you can still get a loan. It’s just that the US govt isn’t going to be loaning the money. It will be a private loan.
This is about all those people clamoring for relief under Biden, because they can’t afford the loans
@musicandroots You can still get loans. But they won’t be from and subsidized by the US Taxpayer.
Why can’t people see this as a smart responsible action to help prevent students from being burdened by student debt their entire life.
Instead they cry for more loans and more forgiveness. 🤦🏻♂️
@scottsantens@HowieLongggg Really? Average spending is up to $17/year per student.
In NY it’s almost $30K.
Back in 2014, it was $11K.
Who drives the cost up, who drives the curriculum, and who drives the unions?
Get a clue buddy
@scottsantens@fredgeck You say things without thinking. How many billions do corporations provide for college research programs?
And how much R&D do corporations spend on their own?
You look to govt for handouts. Corporations look for a return on investment.
@scottsantens Colleges are tuition free in many states.
Here in MA, students can go to a local community college for free.
I don’t think it’s the only one.
In other cases, you can go to school on ROTC scholarship.
You just want more handouts, less effort, and still have ability to whine
@DudeBro1967@JordanEMAW@TheWildUte I don’t see teams paying $75-100M for parity in payouts.
ACC will lose Miami to BIG and I think that’s it.
I think ACC pulls in USF, UConn, and maybe Tulane.
@DudeBro1967@JordanEMAW@TheWildUte I think BIG would want to be in TX and FL. Those are the big fb markets.
I think FSU, USF, Miami would be the options. Of those Miami is probably most realistic.
For TX, not sure. Is TT BIG material? Maybe they keep spot for ND.
I don’t think ACC gets plucked by Big12.
@JackDunkins01@therealandrewwu Colleges cost $100K/year for full time and room/board. It’s not an entitlement. Son went to school on ROTC scholarship. Community college is free in many states. Par time and state schools exist too. Stop making excuses and playing the victim card. Be an adult. 🤦🏻♂️
@JackDunkins01 People like you want it both ways. You cry for loan forgiveness when students are buried with $250K of student debt. Now the govt is saying no more loans for specific programs and the best you can do is complain that kids can’t go to college.
The answer is of course they can.
