My landlord had the strangest tenant rule I've ever seen.

Every tenant in his building got one "grace month."

Once during your entire lease, you could tell him you couldn't pay rent.

He would waive that month's rent completely.

No paperwork. No proof. No repayment plan. No questions.

Just once.

When I first moved into the building, I thought it was a scam.

When I see stuff like this, it drives home how incredible it is that the 49ers got Mike Evans for the price they did.

Warren Sharp on John Lynch’s drafting over the years:

“I know some 49ers fans are going to say they win a lot of games, so he must be drafting well. No. They win in spite of Lynch. Their 3 biggest on field contributors to wins the last several years have been Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy. He got Trent because Dan Snyder pissed him off. CMC was a trade and Purdy was Mr Irrelevant, but after the draft, Lynch gave the credit to the Purdy pick to Brian Griese and scout Steve Slowik. Those 3 players combined with the coaching of Kyle Shanahan are leading the 49ers to wins. In fact, I would turn this argument on its head and say the 49ers have been close to winning, but still haven’t won a Super Bowl because they have drafted so poorly.”

My biggest takeaway from the video other than Sharp destroying Lynch is that Kyle Shanahan doesn’t get any of the blame for several poor drafts and decisions — the trade up to get Lance — since 2021

De’Zhaun Stribling. One thing that he has that is hard to find is true breakaway speed with the ball in his hands. he doesn’t lose any speed or slow down until he reaches the end zone or is tackled. It’s like that all game, every game. He is also the best blocking wr from this draft class. 49ers drafted him to combat seattles big nickel defense and their team speed. Having a wr with elite top tier speed in the slot that is capable of blocking like a small TE at times means the matchup up issues Seattle presents from defensive personnel are erased. 49ers also needed yac to combat Sea’s scheme. They get that with Stribling. he was drafted where he was because 49ers believe he was the best match up issue vs Sea at that point in the draft.
