@andiehringer1 Teachers should incorporate curriculum, lessons, and activities into their classroom that are fairly taught to any race, religion, class, etc. We should always have an inviting classroom to all of our students so that they can feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
@hannahp_au I believe that as future educators we should prepare them for the intense testing through formal assessment so we can know what their strong and weak spots of testing are and further improve our structure of testing based on that while also strengthening their weaknesses.
“It shall be our whole duty to instruct and assist each other in the improvement of our minds…” (Muhammad 137). How can we as future educators improve the minds of our students? #auctee3100book21
@cmorrinauctee Making sure that your students have healthy debates in class is an important factor of creating relationships with each other while also learning from each other. A way to make sure they stay civil within the conversations is to limit what they say and how much is said.
@sydneybee_3 I think the most important thing we can do to calm the child down would be to talk to him/her in a very calming tone and with affirming words that will everything is going to be okay. We can then allow he/she to talk to you for as long as they need until they feel comfortable.
“Some have connected the aims of intellectualism to higher-order or higher-level thinking, but historically among Black communities, intellectualism wasn’t seen as exceptional learning- it was just the norm and the way they approached learning (Muhammad 105). Question next tweet.
How can we as future educators make sure that our students level of intellectualism is equally the same throughout the classroom no matter what race, sex, class etc?
@randiiclaire_AU Dress codes are implemented to make sure that student's do not wear anything showing too much skin or something that is not appropriate. However, student learning should be a more important concern rather than worrying about the clothes that they wear.
@tylerlitcircle Making sure that our students are heard and taking their feedback and implementing it into your classroom to accommodate them is important as a future teacher to do better for our students.
“For educators, it is critically important to push back on standards and practices that are not aligned to what students need most”(Muhammad 68). How can we as future educators make sure that we know our students enough to know exactly what they need and be able to help them?
@steed_perry Instead of assuming that the parent(s) do not care about their children’s education, we should try to reach out to them and set up a meeting time to discuss their child and how their child is doing in school.
@hannahp_au Motivating students can be hard if they are uninterested in the topic being talked about. A strategy that I believe might work to solve this problem is giving them a break and also giving encouraging words to help motivate them.
“When we frame the stories of people of color as narratives steeped in pain or even smallness, this becomes the dominant or sole representation” (Muhammad 21). Why do we create a bad picture in our minds when we see people of color instead of a good one? #auctee3100book21
