In many countries outside Africa, classroom hours are less, but still people learn and develop. Perhaps Uganda is one of the countries where students stay longest in class on a typical school day - especially in boarding schools.
On top of the long class hours, day scholars return home with daily loads of homework. They’re even given more work to carry home for weekends! School books and homework become a nuisance at home! What special output justifies this intensive schooling?
Dear Minister of Education, we really need to do something about this. This kind of schooling destroys brains and wholesome growth of our people. Many grade-obsessed parents can’t speak out, some fearing the blackmail from schools asking them to take their children elsewhere. Classwork is important, but education and life in general are not all about books.
Just wondering why the MPs we have chosen , none of them is mentioning or talking about the recent Tax propositions or even suggesting remedies other than increasing taxation?
I have walked the streets of Ankara, Turkey & Amsterdams, Netherlands and not seen a single roaring Toyota V8 or those flashy “Big Toyotas” people worship back home. Yet Turkey’s economy is far bigger than ours.
Uganda will one day manufacture peritoneal dialysis fluids at scale and supply neighbouring countries, leading Africa’s fight against acute and chronic kidney disease with homegrown, life-saving solutions. 🇺🇬🩺💧
Due to heavy traffic congestion in Mpigi, motorists heading to Kampala have been diverted to use the Kasanje–Nakawuka route, while those heading to Masaka have been diverted to use the Gomba–Sembabule route.
We urge all motorists to comply with officers’ directives for smooth traffic flow & safety
I keep telling those who care to listen that the road closures are no longer a security issue. It’s a psychological issue. They are trying to see how & when it will lead to protests by those inconvenienced. And whatever theory lead to this for them is still holding. Docility juu
There are people who have been on that road, around Mpigi since yesterday evening.
Is this how fast @PoliceUg responds to situations?
Secondly, is it not important to communicate clearly what caused the traffic jam along the Masala road?
@igp_ug1@Ugandapolice1 you need to deploy all your traffic Officers to Mpigi to sort out that jam. My family has been in that traffic since 11pm last night and as I post this they are still in Mpigi.
@M_Kananura dont lie about diversions, nothing is on ground. @KagutaMuseveni
