Addicted to continuous improvement. Strong believer that 80% of all challenges in software development have to do with communication. 20% is lack of time.
a friend and colleague was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) at age 42 - please consider helping him and his family! https://t.co/pyB5pKu4lL
Twitter is toxic, thus I decided to stop using it. Bye everyone and thanks for all the fish. Those who I follow can still DM me if you want to get in touch.
@CarstenK_Dev @isaac_abraham@TorstenWeber wow. and throwing over 50% people in the UK under the bus for a few decades. I am glad that in the EU there are a lot of folks with a more nuanced view.
@AlexTheGuiri@Peston@OFOCBrexit who cares who's funding him? (ignoring for the moment that he is very open & clear about that) - in contrast to any Brexiteer's I've heard so far, he has actual arguments and they have legs.
Evaluating schools as a good idea - if it leads to helping them become better (e.g. exchange info & staff with other schools to learn from). Publishing those evaluations and publicly shaming is completely counterproductive in many ways. #ofsted#fail
@EACH_Cambs Cambridgeshire college slammed in its first Ofsted inspection - and is told it 'requires improvement' in a number of key areas.

🇪🇺 @NicolaSturgeon: “Let us make our voice heard loud and clear so that we are not ignored by Westminster any longer.
On May 23, if you want to keep Scotland in the EU – #voteSNP.”

@ManiacsZone@TLRailUK no need. It is surprisingly effective to simply pretend taking a picture with your mobile phone. They moan, but quickly start behaving.
guy on the @TLRailUK train is getting aggressive because I asked him to take his shoes of the seat. "I have a ticket" apparently gives him the permission. What's wrong with people?!?
@auctoritatem@sarahkendzior not the least of surprise here. But a few things clicked with me *why* they are as they are. And being in IT for 30 years it becomes increasingly clear to me, how dangerous the lack of ethical and environmental awareness in my industry is.
"View from flyover country" by @sarahkendzior is such a sobering read about everything that's going wrong in so many countries at the moment. Best read together with "Weapons of Math Destruction"
"When wealth is passed off as merit, bad luck is seen as bad character. This is how ideologues justify punishing the sick and the poor. But poverty is neither a crime nor a character flaw. Stigmatise those who let people die, not those who struggle to live." - @sarahkendzior
any "well-defined" process can only be like stabilizers or crutches to help you gain confidence and learn the underlying principles. But at some point you need put the crutches away and learn to walk by yourself, ie work on continuously improving your processes
@auctoritatem@sarahkendzior I am not quite sure I follow. But maybe my use of "sobering" was a bit misleading there. I meant it in the sense of "yes, that describes exactly what is happening and puts the finger on the underlying problems"
@BookSwapSteve it scares the sh.. out of me every time I cross, in particular cars turning into walpole road from CH road typically don't slow down much because the turn is so "spacious" for the bus to go around the corner
Thinking you can have a "clean-break Brexit" is like believing you can divorce a spouse of 30 years with whom you share a house, children, dog, multiple businesses, and an open minded lover named François, by just moonwalking out one morning and never speaking again.
