Theme: Positioning Children’s Mental Health at the Centre of Service Delivery and Policy Conversations. With support from @NLinUganda.

This afternoon, we were honored to have Grace Obalim, Director of Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO) Uganda address Kitebi SS patriotism trainees on the critical importance of mental health as an integral part of overall well-being.
She cited the distinction between physical and mental health, shedding light on challenges like anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. 'Mental health is another branch of health,' she noted, urging students to seek help from counselors and trusted individuals.
Obalim stressed that open communication is key to addressing mental health issues effectively, citing a Makerere study where 17% of students face mental illnesses.
She advocated for proactive measures, encouraging students to prioritize mental well-being.
