The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with @Makerere and the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team (UK-PHRST), has been implementing activities to strengthen capacity in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for outbreak preparedness and response.
As part of this effort, a national workshop, is ongoing to share lessons learned from the project with key stakeholders, support the development of a national MHPSS plan for integration into the Incident Management System (IMS), and enhance the skills and capacity of personnel. #MOHatWork
The Mental Health and Pychosocial Support (MHPSS) Technical Working Group convened a national mental health coordination workshop aimed at developing a National Multi-Sectoral Coordination Consortium to foster close collaboration among stakeholders, strengthen the integration of MHPSS, and establish national MHPSS communication and reporting structures. Key achievements included identifying challenges hindering MHPSS coordination and collaboration, drafting the National Coordination Consortium ToR, and establishing a Steering Committee for the consortium. #MOHatWork
