Update: By the grace of Almighty God, and only by His grace, President Tinubu’s (@OfficialABAT) heavily lobbied UN meeting with President #Trump is dead. Any endorsement of Tinubu in the upcoming Nigerian presidential election is dead. The proposed White House meeting is dead.

President Tinubu’s central objective was to meet with President @realDonaldTrump and secure his endorsement for the upcoming Nigerian presidential election. Having those meetings canceled and being told, in so many words, that you are a liability to the United States is unfortunate, especially after spending $9 million in Nigerian taxpayer money on the effort.

Regardless, we hope President #Tinubu changes his mind and attends the @UN General Assembly.

My day has been disrupted.

We cannot continue to excuse and ignore the irresponsibility and crass impunity of @flyairpeace in this country.

Mr Allen Onyema possibly believes that because he has the largest fleet of aircraft, and his company occasionally intervenes in the repatriation of stranded Nigerians aboard, that gives him the latitude to take passengers for granted endlessly.

I am scheduled to appear in court in Enugu State this morning for a case that is slated for definite hearing.

I woke up by 4:30 AM and got to MM1 at about 5:50AM hoping to join the 6:45 AM flight with Air Peace. I already checked in last night.

I became suspicious when Air Peace called for only passengers who were supposed to fly to Enugu and Owerri yesterday, while passengers scheduled to depart today were asked to wait.

Apparently, they cancelled yesterday’s flight to Enugu.

Air Peace kept us on the line for about an hour before their staff came and casually told us that the flight has been delayed till 4:50 PM.

At 2:01 AM today, Air Peace sent a second reminder to passengers, despite knowing that the flight was not going to depart as scheduled.

It is sickening that this airline has persisted in its poor service delivery despite routine complaints by passengers.

The regulators of the aviation industry are complicit in the impunity of Air Peace.

The Minister of Aviation, @fkeyamo, has been doing PR for this airline instead of holding them accountable.

@NigeriaCAA and @FAAN_Official have demonstrated that they’re incapable of tackling the arrogance of this airline.

My client’s fate is now uncertain because of the irresponsibility of Air Peace. I met two learned colleagues who were equally billed to travel on the same flight. One of them also has a hearing this morning in Enugu.

Unfortunately , the two other airlines that fly to Enugu from Lagos (United Nigeria and Enugu Air) only have afternoon flights today.

I lost sound sleep, wasted my resources on flights and taxis (by the way, I already booked my return flight with United Nigeria slated for 3:20 PM today), and I am going to miss a sensitive court appearance.

Official data published few ago by NCAA revealed that Air Peace delayed 71% of its flights in August 2026.

According to NCAA, Air Peace recorded 1,330 delays out of 1,864 flights, representing about 71 percent.

No sanctions were imposed.

No country that is serious about economic development will condone such ineptitude.

OBI/KWANKWASO TALKS NIGERIA, THE KADUNA TOWNHALL

Yesterday, after my visit to the Sheikh Muhammad Sambo Memorial Islamic Institute in Rigachikun, Kaduna, I joined my running mate, His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and candidates of our party for an interactive town hall meeting organised by the party.

The town hall, which is a continuation of our series of engagements with citizens following the one we recently held in Port Harcourt, again afforded us the opportunity to interact directly with our fellow citizens, listen to their concerns, answer their questions and hear their contributions on the critical issues facing our country today.

Our response was to reassure our dear compatriots of our commitment to uniting our nation, pulling our people out of poverty, investing in healthcare and education, and aggressively tackling insecurity, so that our people can safely return to their homes, communities and farms.

We also spoke about the need to address the endemic corruption and inefficiencies in the fuel subsidy regime, reduce the burden of fuel costs on Nigerians, and create an economy that supports our citizens to live decent and dignified lives in their own country.

Let me use this opportunity once again to call on our opponents to also speak directly with the people and listen to their feedback. The very essence of democracy is people-centred governance. Leaders and aspiring leaders must therefore leave their comfort zones and interface directly with the people they seek to serve.

I thank our party leadership and the organisers of this town hall for a job well done, and I congratulate the good people of Kaduna State for their renewed commitment to supporting a leadership that listens to and respects their concerns.
