@mgrande8 Of course if soccer was a first pick sport…the whole culture would be different as youth development and professional domestic soccer would be years ahead of where it is now.
@mgrande8 I think the argument, more accurately, is soccer getting first pick at the best athletes from very young. The best athletes aren’t just physically superior, they would have superior mental/creative attributes that could translate to other sports with years of development
@InvertTheWing Crazy how different plays can lead to different penalties. Having a standard punishment based solely on cleats to legs in slow motion without further context would be very dumb.
@IHateSoccerPod We’re talking about differences in youth development between countries. The pre professional youth development for American football and NBA are the same for all teams.
The rise in foreign basketball talent is further support of better youth development abroad.
Pulisic had that one moment in the last World Cup where he scored but he got hurt on that play when he got kicked in the balls. That pretty much sums it up.
@ibflorea I think the US just tends to clam up against any decent European team. They gifted Belgium all their goals and Belgium didn’t need any gifts to win in the first place.
While the discourse is hot…
Was it even a challenge? No not really. It’s like jumping for a header and landing on your opponent who slid under you. A check to the ball…defender bodies from behind
Was it cheating? Well it has nothing to do with playing the game so not really
