Usually focused on the economy & housing. However, as long as Trump is actively working to destroy our republic, I also choose to weigh in on those actions.
My prediction: AOC will run for president, and Zohran Mamdani will replace Chuck Schumer in the Senate.
Some Republicans are cheering that our opponents are crazy. I’m not.
This is bad for America. I may disagree with Democrats on taxes and regulations, but this country needs two parties that actually love America.
US 30-year yields above 5% for the last 12 days in a row - the longest stretch since 2007.
Real yields on 30-year notes are the highest since 2008, at nearly 3%

@DiMartinoBooth A better chart showing the divergence between housing units (including ADUs)/ households and listings. There is no shortage of units. However, there is a listing shortage due to the reckless negligence by Powell keeping rates too low for too long, creating mortgage lock.
A simple but powerful historical signal. 👇🏼
Sharp energy price spikes tend to act like a brake on the whole economy. They raise costs for businesses and consumers, squeeze spending and often tip the economy into contraction.
@texasrunnerDFW The soft landing was underway until Trump started a war in Iran. Until that wraps up, the fed's next hiking cycle is finished, and we actually achieve a soft landing, housing is a very risky purchase.
Anyone that's tempted to buy a house should repeat to themselves:
“When we asked Jeremy Grantham for signals of an imminent bubble bursting, he told us back in June that one of the most reliable things to watch out for is when leaders of the previous bull market start to underperform while the overall market continues to rise.” 👇🏼

@MauiBoyMacro We've tried letting the market set wages, and this is the result. Raising the minimum wage would likely have far fewer negative unintended consequences.
This means taxpayers are subsidizing their corporate profits. 👇🏼
“The number of Amazon workers relying on the federal programs for the poor nearly tripled between February 2020 and September 2025.”
“And for the first time, ride-hailing and app-based food delivery companies ranked among the top three.”

This oil crisis is now considerably more dangerous than it was back in March while market sentiment remains complacent.
• Strait of Hormuz closed again, with less dark fleet shuttling than ten days ago;
• Iranian crude exports effectively blockaded;
• Bab el Mandeb has become a new front in the Iran-US conflict, removing additional Saudi barrels;
• Less diplomatic room for manoeuvre than before the MoU;
• Kazakh crude exports via CPC terminal halted following Ukraine’s vessel strike campaign in the Black Sea;
• 1.5mbpd of Russian product exports missing, with significant duration due to recurring Ukraine drone strikes;
• Global crude inventories 1.5bn barrels lower than on 28 Feb;
• US product inventories remain lowish while its refinery system is maxed out;
• Brent back to a US$6 front-month backwardation.
We are rapidly moving from a products crisis - which is here to stay - back into a crude and product crisis.
Expect fresh announcements of SPR releases.
It's bizarro world with Trump & tariffs. It's political insanity to keep trying something that 63% of Americans oppose with no sign of voters coming around.
He's had a negative approval rating in every single poll since tariff Liberation Day in 2025. That's 482 days in a row.
Let's be clear. Trump is not attacking Iran to stop the threat from that repressive dictatorship to its people, the region, or the U.S. Trump is bombing Iran to try to reopen the Straight of Hormuz that was open before he started his war.
@JAX2866@JakeSherman SAVE act requires a birth certificate or passport that matches a driver's license, and it's estimated that 69M women have driver's licenses that don't match birth certificates. It's a trojan horse to suppress votes. But, it's mostly married women & they supported Trump 52%-47%.
Trump's financial disclosures ran 927 pages this year. Obama's ran 8. Biden's ran 11. Bush's ran 15.
Buried inside: millions of dollars the President made trading stocks he later touted or rewarded with government contracts.
