@Tiffywren@NicholasGess@British_Airways You get 75% of the Avios PLUS the carrier surcharge back, so the flight is nearly free.
Since you used a GUF it would be calculated on the pre-GUF Avios, although BA are notorious for short-changing people with downgrade calculations, often requiring an 'intervention' from CEDR.
@AlexiKCRL@AliJamaine56@Doug_Paulley@Captain_Deltic@RAIL Right, so this has nothing at all to do with DOO then? And could just as well have happened if the dispatchers had been guards?
It's honestly pathetic how you'll take a serious incident as an excuse to try and peddle myths about DOO.
@Captain_Deltic@Heidi_Labour We should be very afraid of any "simplification" because it inevitably means higher fares. See LNER's sham "trial", TfW's "simplifying away" of Cheap Day Returns, Project Oval...
People want cheaper fares, but the government refuses to read the mood music.
@andybfcfan@GordonDudman@Captain_Deltic@Heidi_Labour It has absolutely nothing to do with Trainline as every retailer uses the same industry data feeds for timetables. If Trainline are wrong, odds are that every retailer is wrong.
I don't like Trainline any more than you do, but let's get the facts straight.
@ChimeWhistle Because it increases operational reliability, as the train can still run if the rostered CSI is ill/delayed etc.
Of course, because the train can run without the CSI, it reduces the RMT's negotiating leverage - which is the real reason they are afraid of it.
@Captain_Deltic@EngFocus Cost-cutting targets - the stated justification for these cuts.
Our railway is a public service and should be run accordingly. The timetable should be treated as a commitment to the public, not a vague aspiration that's cast aside as soon as a convenient excuse comes up.
@Captain_Deltic@EngFocus Most 'businesses' don't rely on huge subsidies to exist but are profitable in their own right. Taxpayers pay billions in annual subsidy to the industry, I think it is only fair that a consistent service is provided all-year round - not just when it suits arbitrary targets.
@dog_gem@mk2james@Captain_Deltic You just don't get it, do you?
You'd rather that everyone suffers from a lack of buses, rather than benefitting from an accessible taxi organised by the railway. Nobody is being excluded from travel.
@ginnersinner@GC_Rail A similar number of changes, journey time and class of travel broadly speaking - see section 4.2.3 of the EU Interpretive Guidelines (which obviously aren't binding but are indicative): https://t.co/LNF7aWrCGd)
@ginnersinner@GC_Rail They can't force you to get a refund but for those who still want to travel (i.e. most people) they need to provide new tickets valid on LNER. As a minimum they should be assuring people they will be reimbursed if they buy their own new tickets.
@BradleyJamieS@SouthernRailUK@trainline Did you travel? If so it's Delay Repay you need to claim from the operator (Southern) based on how late you arrived.
If you didn't travel it's a refund you want to claim, from the retailer (presumably Trainline).
