Summer Blast 2025: Organizers assures Unforgettable Moments for over 5000 Port Harcourt’s Children and Families anticipated to attend
What started as a quiet act of kindness just a few years ago has quickly grown into one of the most anticipated children’s events in Port Harcourt.
Spearheaded by the passionate and visionary Oby-Ivy Nia Fakae, Summer Blast 2025 promises to be the biggest day of joy, learning, and love for children and families in the city.
Originally held each December as a small gathering for children who might otherwise never get the chance to attend such events, the initiative has evolved. “The idea was to build self-confidence and offer these children a beautiful memory,” says Oby-Ivy, CEO and founder of Summer Blast.
“The transformation we saw last year was incredible. Parents reached out to share how their children had changed for the better and that made us want to do even more.”
This year’s edition is scheduled for September 5th, 2025, the last weekend before schools resume and a public holiday weekend, making it the perfect time for a family-focused celebration. Aptly titled Summer Blast, the event is more than just a party, it’s a safe, inclusive space where every child can feel loved, celebrated, and excited about the future.
“There are very few spaces where children and their parents can truly enjoy an event together, where the content is wholesome and fun for all ages,” Oby-Ivy explains. “We want to create that kind of environment where mothers, fathers, siblings, and kids can all participate and have a blast.”
Highlights of Summer Blast 2025 include:
A full day of exciting games, team challenges, and family-friendly activities
Educational competitions to help kids ease back into learning mode
An inclusive, nurturing atmosphere designed to build confidence and foster connection
A celebration of childhood joy just before the school year begins
“We're intentional about making this not just a day of fun, but also one of impact,” Oby-Ivy continues.
“Children are changing classes, moving to new levels, and we want them to go in with zeal, excitement, and the confidence that they are loved and seen.”
As Summer Blast continues to grow, so does the vision behind it. “Port Harcourt is big enough for multiple events like this. We welcome others who are also building safe, inclusive family spaces, there’s enough room for all of us.”
To the many partners, supporters, and volunteers: “You are important to this brand and this vision,” Oby-Ivy adds. “Thank you for being part of the journey. Together, we are shaping a future where every child knows they matter.”
@gonegirlxoxo23 This is the saddest childhood story I’ve heard. I’m glad you’re working on a personal relationship with Christ because, truth is, He alone can heal someone who’s been through such trauma.
@stmajoraa@Klienbro This decision sef doesn’t help the economy grow.

@oismail11@ReneRodrig1142@ruffydfire You're absolutely right. It is unfortunate. We're yet to really see and feel the implications of this entire saga.
