Christ-follower, wife to an OB, mom to 4 hilarious kids, sometimes writer and podcaster; finding beauty in the everyday, defending truth as the need arises.
3/3 there are parallels to draw between the mystery of husband and wife becoming one flesh in marriage, and how marriage images Christ and the Church. But I’d hazard to say it has less to do with the mechanics of sex and more to do with the intimacy sex supports and cultivates.
1/3Thoughts no one asked for on the @TGC article
The only biblical text that speaks of sex in length is written in poetry. To paraphrase Proverbs, the way of a man with a maiden is too wonderful to me, I know it not. There is wisdom in keeping intimate things veiled
2/3 Clarity of thought is born from definitional thinking. Marriage involves sex, but marriage is not sex. Conflating the two and extending the boundaries of an analogy given to one, but not the other, leads to some serious and weird errors.
I’d posit, that by home educating, and raising up the next generation of citizens to love God and live virtuously, we not only love our neighbors well, we also impact civilization on a larger (and more effective) scale.
[Thread] It seems my recent remarks on public school are being misrepresented, so I’d like to clarify. I get it, it was an hour-long debate, and in an age of short attention spans, clips and tweets can too easily obscure the flow of a longer argument. So, here we go:
Yet, she erroneously identifies our primary method for engaging with and impacting civilization is as separated members. Individually interacting among peers, in one institution.
“The Hitler’s and Stalins find murder necessary, but they don’t advertise their callousness, and they don’t speak of it as murder”- George Orwell
It is “mercy” it is “choice”
And so the road to hell is paved with soothing phrases to cover heinous acts
Horrific:
Anne Hathaway says "abortion can be another word for mercy"
Abortion involves tearing a child's arms and legs off, crushing her skull, or starving her to death.
There is nothing merciful about killing a child.
Hey @staceyabrams Jonathan Swift already recommended this in his Modest Proposal. In case you missed it, it’s satire. Saying murder is a solution to poverty is something only a ghoul would suggest.
.@staceyabrams says abortion can help address inflation issues: "Having children is why you’re worried about your price for gas, it’s why you’re concerned about how much food costs. For women, this is not a reductive issue."
Episode 23 is now available! We had so much fun discussing how Christians should think about art and humor with BBC comedy writer, author, & podcaster James Cary of @cooperandcary.
It’s almost like the pro-choice agenda was never really about choice or helping women in the first place…like motherhood itself has been the enemy all along
A recent WSJ report reveals that many businesses are offering to pay for travel for abortions but is decreasing maternity/paternity leave benefits.
Hulu just cut paid parental leave benefits by 60%. It’s cheaper to “help” women abort children than to provide paid leave.
We are thrilled to announce that we’re back with a new season! This week we are interviewing @andrewtwalker on Roe vs. Wade, transgenderism, and the issue of human dignity. https://t.co/rPATGcCLn6
