Regarding this Parliament, I have been patient before, but this term there will be no room for leaders who seek titles without helping the people they lead. I am directing NRM leaders to return to the parishes and ensure that existing government programmes are lifting people out of poverty. I do not want to hear excuses about poverty while solutions already exist. Ministers and government officials who fail in this responsibility will be held accountable. This is Kisanja no sleep . Enough is enough.

I was glad to launch the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo at Munyonyo today. Uganda remains one of the most unique tourism destinations because of our favourable climate, rich culture, peace and natural beauty.
Regarding Ebola, there is no cause for alarm. We are applying targeted measures and continuing to work scientifically to keep people safe while keeping our economy open.
As our economy grows towards upper-middle-income status, we shall also improve the tourism experience, including friendlier visa arrangements to attract more visitors. I therefore welcome the world to come and explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
UPDATE: Uganda is set to begin local manufacturing of sickle cell drugs following the launch of the Hydroxyurea Manufacturing Facility by Quality Chemical Industries in Luzira. The facility was commissioned by the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwine, and will lead the production of Sikurea, a drug expected to boost the fight against sickle cell disease and improve access to treatment across the country.

@DianaAtwine All in all, there must be contact with body fluids of an "active patient"!
I guess during incubation period such body fluids are still harmless? If so, at what stage (as of now) should the public avoid handshaking??

Uganda ships first-ever processed pineapple exports to China
Uganda has sent its first-ever shipment of processed pineapples to China, marking a step in efforts to expand value-added agricultural exports. The move comes as Kampala seeks to strengthen its position in global agribusiness by shifting from raw exports to processed goods. The shipment forms part of broader cooperation between Uganda, China, and the Food and Agriculture Organization under the South-to-South Cooperation programme. It follows China’s recent expansion of its zero-tariff policy to 53 African countries, aimed at boosting trade in value-added products.
The Department of State is coordinating a comprehensive response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda. Within 48 hours, the Department activated a response plan and mobilized an initial $13 million in foreign assistance for immediate response efforts, and we are leveraging the Department’s historic investment in OCHA pooled funds for the DRC and Uganda to ensure the rapid deployment of additional humanitarian assistance on the ground and close coordination with the UN system. American leadership remains indispensable in confronting global health threats.
Big appreciation to Hon. Joseph Jones Omara for the 10 years of supporting the Bata Sub-county championship in Dokolo North. The inclusion of the girl child in this year’s competition it a strong statement. Leadership through action defined. 👏⚽ @ogwaljj#SportsForDevelopment
