Not only was it super romantic we got a beautiful black m/f couple with gorgeous animation colorful backgrounds and mind blowing sound track this was a literal work of art that deserves all the praise
this is why i’ll always cherish anything made more beautiful than it needs to be. it reminds me of Christopher Alexander’s story about a woman slicing strawberries impossibly thin because “the finer I slice the strawberries, the more surfaces there are.” it takes longer and she doesn’t need to, which is the point
a beautiful ticket, a carefully wrapped gift, a finely sliced strawberry are all little acts of surplus care. the effort that can’t justify itself economically is often exactly what makes the world feel enchanted
i love this answer because the easiest way to become a creative person is to stop asking whether you are one and start making things. creativity is a verb before it’s an identity. you become creative by creating
I love when filmmakers challenge themselves to showcase Black stories in unique ways. Greek mythology meets neighborhood storytelling.
and not the trailer making me emo lol.
this post is so funny to me bc i remember being a lil ahead in reading in the 3rd grade so while most people were reading children's fantasy books my teacher was like "i feel like you would really like this book about the holocaust"
When you get materials—you’ve got some onions, you’ve got some fish, you’ve got a slice of beef—you can’t cook that properly unless you love it. All those are dead creatures which have died in your honor; what’re you going to do about that? The only way to deal respectfully with a creature that has died in your honor is to give it an honorable cooking. The dead cow you are eating is becoming you, and the least you can do for it is to let it enjoy itself as you.
And therefore, the stove in the kitchen is an altar, and you are a priest at that altar, and you should reverence that gorgeous thing. Look at a beautiful mackerel that has been caught and prepared for you; handed out by the supermarket: you’ve got this thing; it’s a living being that’s died to give you life. The best thing you can do for it is to prepare it royally, and you should brood over your stove with an act of love and see that it’s exactly right.
Owning assets will teach you so much about money. Just think about the times when you're up on your portfolio. Automatically puts you in a better mood. But notice how you never had to actually sell the asset for you to feel that way
Nothing tangibly changed in your day to day. You didn't withdraw the gain into your bank account. You didn't spend it on anything that would've improved your physical reality. You're richer on paper but not in real life. Yet you're walking around with more confidence
Notice how you never needed the money itself to embody a better version of yourself. The number on the screen simply gave you artificial permission. Same goes in the opposite direction. Portfolio gets hit and suddenly you're moving smaller in the world. But again your life didn't change. Only the number did
The number will constantly change forever as long as you're in the game. To attach your self perception to such a fickle variable is mental illness. Detach importance. What you see shouldn't dictate how you feel. Up, you're still you. Down, you're still you. You're always you. So simply be the best you all the time. You have the power. You're in control
This man just tinkering away by himself in a studio in the Netherlands and keeping his krabby patty formula a secret from the jewellery world is so hilarious actually. Nobody really knows how he puts that diamond there (and no it’s not claws or prongs).
This makes manifestation so much easier to understand. Simply feed your subconscious with your beliefs of choice, then quite literally sit back and relax
"I am the luckiest person in the world, wealth comes to me effortlessly, [insert whatever other beliefs you want]." Structure it in the present tense to tell your subconscious, "This is already the truth"
Because your subconscious is designed to never question the information it receives and always take everything you tell it at face value, it now has to ensure that your physical reality actually aligns with the truth
One way it does that is by what's described below. Those random "lightbulb moments" that pop into your head or "omg, this is it" ideas you get in the shower. You didn't actively think them, but they also didn't just come out of nowhere
It was simply the result of the command you gave to your subconscious. "This is the truth of who I am. Take the information, and use it to make me see situations, approach challenges, and synthesize experiences in new ways that align with the truth of who I am"
Actually life changing stuff. As long as you carry the right beliefs and are genuinely convicted in those beliefs, you just have to trust that your subconscious will take care of and guide you accordingly. All you have to do is keep moving forward, putting yourself out there, exposing yourself to new opportunities, and be ready to act when the inspiration strikes
