@Toddmclain02@Slackwatercap@BillAckman He’s making the point that anyone who bought or refied between 2&3% in 20,21,22 is not going to sell their house even though it has likely appreciated greatly—unless they are downsizing or forced.
Wrong or right, people buy houses based on their monthly payments.
@SullyCNBC Except people borrow money to buy or lease electric vehicles. Businesses invest in more efficient PP&E. Second order effect of higher rates is a slower upgrade cycle. It does not curb demand.
@GerberKawasaki Find a path to end the war.
Stop the insane spending on entitlements.
Tariffs are a consumption tax—people are idiots about the tariffs. 50% tarring does not equate to a 50% in cost of goods. That’s a sloppy point.
@garyblack00 Inflation is principle being driven by oil prices. Slowing the economy likely slows the transition to more energy efficient and productive goods. It also increases the cost of borrowing for the government, which is the other principle driver of inflation.
@GerberKawasaki Tesla doesn’t want to be in that type of retail business and they’d be terrible at it. Fleet managers are effectively buying, and being compensated for, the customer service function.
@BillAckman One cannot understate the market value of these AP exams either. With college credits near $2k in some cases, these classes allow more students access to better colleges with less debt burden. This is what the democratization of education should look like. Study, work, achieve
@johnarnold The only thing missing is the infinite scalability of the PE teams, at no costs break. When 60 kids try out, they don’t take 20, they make 3 teams in different divisions. In ice hockey, rinks have also exercised considerable margin power. $1k/hr in NYC burbs for pk times.
@carlquintanilla@NYMag This isn’t really news Carl. You’re a financial journalist. The basis of your job is reporting abt companies & managers. A core responsibility of a BOD is to maximize shareholder value. The BOD hire managers to do so. You seem averse to this, like a sportscaster who hates sports
@BillAckman@BarackObama@HillaryClinton The answer is obvious. The attacks on the top 1% have a disproportionately negative impact on the next 49%, and only exits to benefit the bottom 50%. Fill the voter roles people who receive these benefits and every election is “us against the guys who want to take it away”
@TheClemReport None of it matters anymore. If you would had a crystal ball that said, “do this and you win now”, if you’re Dolan or the knicks, you take it. So, all the picks mean now is that he was right.
