I genuinely doubt any pain would hurt more than loving someone with the intention of spending the rest of your life with them, doing everything in your power to make the relationship work, making sacrifices, staying faithful, and giving them your absolute best, only to discover that throughout all of this, they were misleading you and entertaining someone else.
Imagine pouring all your eggs into one basket because you genuinely believe you have found your last bus stop. You are making decisions with both of you in mind, sacrificing today for the future you hope to build together, and mentally preparing to spend the rest of your life with this person. Meanwhile, they have another person in the picture.
The most painful part is realising that while you were trying to make the relationship work, you were the only one who understood how much was at stake. You were protecting something they were perfectly comfortable putting at risk. You were making sacrifices for a future they were not even sure they wanted with you.
Cheating is painful, but discovering that someone allowed you to build your entire future around them while they were secretly keeping their options open is a different kind of heartbreak.
Imo the best way to move on from heartbreak is respecting their decision, I know it sounds too moral and righteous but I'm being fr. Understanding that they have autonomy, they make decisions for themselves, and they know better than *anyone* what's best for them. They made the decision not to want you in their lives, what else can you do about it. Literally nothing, end of discussion. It doesn't stop the pain but I think one of the things that makes you attached to someone is thinking that you're entitled to their love because of any history or some soulmate delusions. The reality is that they decided they don't want to share their days with you, it's simple but not easy. They thought about it, and they decided they don't want to wake up next to you, fall asleep next to you, share their good news, their dreams, their stress, and their pain with you, they decided you're not the person they want to talk to every day, etc. That's a bunch of decisions, and they made them. What else can you do about it, literally nothing
Over-Communication Isn't Intimacy.
It's Just Total Emotional Suffocation.
Here is how it kills relationships. When you need to update your partner on every single thought, every minor inconvenience, and every shift in your mood, you are not bonding. You are trying to control the narrative. You are trying to eliminate the silence because the silence forces you to sit with your own nervous system. It forces you to regulate yourself instead of outsourcing your peace to their replies.
But here is what over-communication actually does: it suffocates the relationship. It removes the mystery.
It makes the relationship feel like a chore. And eventually, they will get tired. Not because they do not love you, but because they cannot breathe.
This is why I will always advocate for healthy breathing space. You need time to recharge. You need to miss each other. You need to have a life outside of the relationship so you actually have something new to talk about when you reconnect.
You cannot miss someone you never get a break from.
Real intimacy is not about being in constant contact. It is about being comfortable in the silence. It is sitting in the same room, doing two completely different things, and feeling completely secure.
Vibe coded my parents' TV this afternoon!
It was showing a sponsored ad before you could even get to Netflix.
Gave Claude Code the model number, it found the TV on wifi, removed 25 Xiaomi packages and wrote a new launcher.
Looks like an Apple TV now lol
I’m seeing more and more people ruin their relationships because they interpret the absence of novelty as the absence of love, without considering an important possibility: their feelings for the new person might be intensified by the uncertainty, idealisation, anticipation and emotional highs associated with limerence.
I grew up playing The Sims 3 and always wondered what it would be like if the Sims lived in a world inspired by ours.🤷🏽♀️
Then I saw @eureka_seamless riding a danfo through Lagos, and it sparked an idea: Lagos Life Sims.
Take a look around. Who knows, you might make a new friend in the Sims world.

What bursts my head with this money/wig/iphones you people are sending/buying is that..
- The one that gives her money, guess what she’d give them in return ?
- The ones that buy her food, guess what she gives them in return ?
- The one that buys her wigs, guess what she gives in return ?
- The one she’s in a relationship with, guess what she gives back ?
- The one that buys iphones, guess ?
- Now.. even down to the ones she truly likes, guess what they get in return ?
+ The one she just finds cute and attractive.. Guess ?
See… being the one sending money and buying iphone/wigs before getting THAT SAME THING all the Men are getting is actually a choice I promise you😆
One habit I picked up from someone I dated many years ago and I still practice till date is detailed apology.
In her words "Olayinka, I'm sorry is not a complete apology. What exactly are you sorry for?"
