🚨 Darlington Council has signed off TWELVE translation contracts worth up to £720,000.

Seriously, why?!

Darlington has around 107,000 residents.

Roughly 8,400 weren’t born in the UK. And of course, many of those people will speak English.

Yet somehow the council has signed off 12 separate translation contracts worth up to £60,000 each.

No wonder the council is £170m in debt!

Then remember…

We all carry a device in our pocket that can translate almost any language in seconds for free.

Yet our public sector continues spending tens of millions on translation every year.

Aaaand we’re off… this morning’s Burnham misdirection.

When he says he’s “diverting” £454 MILLION from climate funding to lower bus fares to £2, he doesn’t mean Britain’s foreign climate commitments have been cut…

Because they haven’t. £400 MILLION of the cash from the overseas climate funding is switched from grants to loans instead.

So the spending hasn’t changed the financing has, with taxpayers carrying the cost and risk.

Judge Salavati one of Iran's most notorious hanging judges, sentenced her under "Baghi," armed rebellion.

During months in solitary confinement, she was subjected to severe psychological torture and pressure to make forced confessions. But she refused. So they sentenced her to death anyway.

Fellow female prisoners who were with Arghavan inside Evin say her situation is urgent. The torture has left her with severe psychological trauma and physical illness. She is not just facing the death sentence, she is suffering right now, inside that cell. But is still alive and is still time to save her life.

Please join me and help us Iranians to say her name now and demand international community and the leader leaders of the world to put pressure on these that republic to stop them from executing her and other political prisoners.

The national inquiry now has the power to find out who and why. Every official, every decision, every name. Whether it does is dependent on the pressure we apply. Unless you believe a Labour Party Baroness will do it willingly.

Since Andy Burnham walked into Downing Street, my inbox has filled with the same question. What is the point now? The man who buried the cover-up question in Greater Manchester runs the country, so we will never see justice done.

I understand why people feel it. But eight years ago I was told there was no cover-up and no story worth telling, by the people who ran the council, the police and the party that held both.

Three council leaders are gone. Every case they brought against me was defeated in the courts, and in May the High Court ruled against GMP itself.

A national inquiry now exists because ordinary people refused to accept the official account, and they are the ones still running from the truth.

Burnham in Number 10 raises the stakes. For years he held up his assurance reviews as proof there was nothing to find. While those reviews were telling you nothing happened, Operation Hexagon was running, a joint operation between GMP and Oldham Council that came after the people asking questions instead of the men raping children. Every officer involved answered, through the chain of command, to the Mayor who held police and crime powers in his own hands.

The statutory inquiry can now compel his evidence under oath, and the reviews, and Hexagon, become part of what he has to answer for. The only way he escapes is if we stop.

A 19 year old woman has just been convicted for defamation.

Because she warned in a private group chat about a man who was convicted of s*xually assaulting a 13 year old girl.

The court ordered her to pay around $3100 in compensation to the convicted man.

She must also do 30 hours youth service.

Despite the fact it was true that the man was convicted.

Anita Papist, a young Iranian singer, has been sentenced to 74 lashes.

Her crime? Singing and uploading her video on Instagram.

An innocent 72 year old grandfather, Mario Roggero, is being dragged to prison for 14 years and 9 months.

Why?

Because three armed thugs broke into his jewelry store, held a gun to his daughter’s face, put a knife to his wife’s throat, beat them, and tried to destroy his family.

Mario defended them. He fought back. And for that, Italy’s courts have decided he’s the criminal.

Not the robbers who came to terrorize and steal. Him.

They say the “danger had passed” because the attackers were running away.

What kind of twisted logic is this?

This is betrayal of the Italian people.

This is a system that protects predators and punishes fathers and grandfathers who dare to protect their own.

Now they want to lock him up like a thug while the real criminals demand millions in compensation from the man they tried to destroy.

This court ruling from Sweden is worse than you think.

A 14 year old girl with autism was r*ped in a park by a man in his 40s.

But the man has now been set free by the court.

Why?

In the verdict, the court claimed the girl had "several opportunities to just walk away" which was part of the reasoning from the court to let the man walk free.

The prosecutor had demanded deportation for life as the man has a foreign background.

Not only did that not happen.

But he didn't even get any prison.

He was set free.

I'm lost for words at what is happening in Sweden.

The prosecutor is appealing the ruling and I will try to keep you updated on this case going forward.

We started subsidising wind in 1990. Now instead of 15 year subsidies we're paying for 20 years

We were told we had to subsidise wind and solar as they were immature technologies that needed support to develop

Well it's been 36 years!! If a technology can't mature in 36 years there's something fundamentally w with it

The reality is we will NEVER be able stop paying these subsidies

Plus the extra grid connection costs as their energy density is so low

And every Sunday night his wife still sits at that same table, staring at numbers that only ever seem to get worse.

How long before Britain loses an entire generation of farmers who simply can’t afford to carry on?
