Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,I post things that impress me as I make my way through the scriptures; neuroradiologist; Matthew 10:32 -why I’m on X
@NationalistStan@RogueCenturion We don’t believe God was created. I’m fine with you saying that I’m not your category of Christian, but the term Christian means someone who believes in and follows Jesus Christ.
@lutheranconvert@edromine Yes. Absolutely. Read it.
Be humble, and sincere pray for the spirit and seek truth for yourself. We are so confident in our message that all we do is ask you to read and pray and be led by the spirit.
@da_pacem@NiceanRick@emuse1955 It’s obvious? He gave the priesthood keys to the apostles prior to his death. The Doctrine and Covenants also designates them as having the same authority of the President of the church. I don’t think it was obvious that JS3 was to be the prophet.
@MLJK87@howertonjosh You are a mathematics professor. I studied chemistry. The first law of the physical universe I learned was that matter could neither be created or destroyed. Every chemical reaction needs to preserve energy and matter. How does that jibe with creation ex nihilo?
@RogueCenturion We are Christian.
Christian is defined by someone who follows Jesus Christ. By excluding LDS you are taking the prerogative of redefining the term to someone who adheres to 4th century creeds.
@asophiething What a strange thing to say. People’s lives are not an indictment of their faith but a reflection of it.
Didn’t Jesus teach this in Luke 6:45?
@da_pacem@NiceanRick@emuse1955 Joseph Smith the third was 12 and was not even a candidate at that time to succeed his father. The reorganized church came along much later.
@kylebeshears@greatlakessaint Perhaps it is because ours are novel and those other things have been argued and hashed out as nauseum through the last century.
@kylebeshears@greatlakessaint Im just puzzled by the rhetoric being directed towards us LDS for having a very nuanced difference in belief about something like the trinity that seems difficult to grasp anyway but Christianity doesn’t seem to bat an eye about other seemingly more important issues.
