it drives folks to find retro clones, pdfs to download, spurs fans to compile stuff like the B/X Compendium & OSRIC, moves the conversation and the hobby beyond the corporate metronome of new is better than old, buy buy buy
Moving Dungeons and Dragons completely away from physical books to a monthly online subscription fee with additional micro transactions is fucking terrible for players, especially to teenagers and people in lower economic situations.
@ChrisOfTheFens@BradRTorgersen yep. totally wack premise
--Battlestar Galactica 1980 -level schlock 🤪
and it would still be better than current DizzyWars retcon arcs👍
private delivery firm running consumables/grocery could single-handedly switch "must shop" grocery store consumer revenue and deliver entire markets to able players at various levels and niches:
kitchen➡️delivery, bartending.
supple side (costco, sysco, etc).
conceirge services.
If Disney were serious about this damned franchise they'd eject all the younger-Millennial nonbinaries and feminists from both writing and production, then get some *real* writers to do a TARKIN prequel. He was the one man who made even Vader pause, and his story should be told. Not with CGI, but in a straight live-action film. And there's just one actor to could do it justice.
@pnwguerrilla true but often a companys' own dog food sells: it's like I could sell tons of green vests, chalk bags, and mesh shopping bags we use in store but it's not a SKU so 🤷
@ARomeoSierra Yeah, that's the only good part in this. I definitely don't want what happened to Star Trek to happen to Stargate.
Amazon missed an opportunity because the audience wants authentic storytelling these days, as every single "modern audience" slop has flopped.
@kneubuehl wish the Neo had worked out for me. it's an elegant piece of gear but unfortunately a lot of the radio hardware in my studio was unable to function with it
-had the tech support take a look at it and they were stumped so I just simply returned it
<exaggeration>

I just refuse to believe that fighting a war that has been going on for as long as people have existed in the Middle East is what we should be doing as citizens living in North America together.
Two hundred years ago, a squirrel might've traveled for dozens of miles through Tennessee's forests without ever touching the ground.
Folk lore even claimed a squirrel could travel from the Atlantic to the Mississippi without touching the dirt floor.
Among those forests stood the American chestnut, growing up to 100 feet tall with a trunk diameter of 5-10 feet.
It was one of the most common and important trees in the eastern United States—feeding wildlife, feeding people, and shaping entire ecosystems.
Then a fungal blight arrived.
Within a few decades, somewhere between 3-4 billion trees were gone.
Today, most people in Tennessee couldn't recognize a mature American chestnut in a photo.
That's a remarkable thing when you consider how common the tree once was.
The lesson is simple:
The American chestnut reminds us that stewardship must begin long before something becomes rare.

This sounds like a hoot! I just downloaded it and look forward to reading it.
Inspired by shows like He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, One Piece, and Legend of Korra. Did I mention it's PWYW. https://t.co/myC489DkEf
